Home and Away Matches

Indians are termed as Lions at home, primarily because our fabulous batsmen often choke in away conditions. Here are the home n away stats for these four –

All of these have on par home and away records

ST -equal avg abroad, 5 tons (including his highest score) have come in Bangladesh

56 / 55

RD –More avg abroad

50 /57

RP– His home is Aus J, only one ton have come in Bangladesh out of 18

60 /50

JK– His home is RSA - not a single ton have come in Bangladesh!

56 /53

The above numbers prove one thing, there are far better batsmen than ST who played excellent in away, hostile conditions.

If we compare these no’s again with contemporary Indian batsmen then we find that Sehwag, Laxman dint score a ton in Bangladesh, Ganguly had one.

Dravid is by far the best Indian export in terms of batting. He has excelled while batting abroad, while facing the opposition at their very best, in cold, wet, swinging conditions.

If we have to compare these two guys while batting in Aus, NZ, Eng, Windies, SAF and Pak, Dravid stands out by far …

Dravid has scored at more rate than Tendulkar in England, New Zealand, Pakistan and West Indies. These are not easy places to tour especially NZ.

Tendulkar averages 138 from 9 innings in Bangladesh, what this tells ? 5 tons scored there, if we take it out then he is pedestrian compared to the likes Kallis, Ponting, Dravid.
