As the cliché’ goes Anyone can make them cry, but it takes a genius to make them laugh. ...it is definilty not a kid's play, still the decade of 70’s gave us some of the most memorable comedy movies, it was the time when comedy is present in full form , people have understood the need to have humor in films and makrs knew it’s one of the main masala of a HIT flick,,,lolzz .for those who missed part 1, the link is,

https://mouthshut.com/diary/jecfopslq/RIB-TICKLERS-part-1

FILMS AND FILM MAKERS -The 70’s, era of clean & cute comedies, era of Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Basu Bhattacharya, many comic flicks were made and released in 70’s, , my favourite Bombay to Goa (1971) by S Rmanathan,Budha Mil Gaya(1971) Seeta Aur Geeta (1972) by Ramesh Sippy, Bawarchi (1972) by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Chupke Chupke (1975) by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Golmaal(1979) again by Hrishikesh Mukherjee,Baton Baton Mein(1979)by Basu Chatterji, then there was SHOLAY(1975) another BLOCK BUSTER from Ramesh sippy , need I say anything about this one it was an action flick but had many humorous scenes, then there was Amar Akbar Anthony (1977),Parvarish(1977)by Manmohan Desai, really 70’s was a laugh riot all the way,,,.

COMEDIANS/ HEROES/ HEROINS – Hmmm, from Uttpal Dutt, Ashok Kumar, Amol Palekar, Jagdeep, Asrani, David, Farida Jalaal, Durga Khotey, Pearl Padamsee, Manorama, Daisy irani, Honey Irani, Satyen kappu, Jalaal Aga, Shashi Kala , Dina Pathak, to Viju Khotey, Mehmood (undoubtly the sultan of Comedy), Dhoomal, Inder Sen Johar & his series of titles, (not many know that Yash Chopra started his carrier as assistant with I S Johar), A.K. Hangal, Dada Kondkey,(though I dislike his double meaning dialogue & title but if we are talking bout comedians his name should be there). Deven Verma,& hw can I miss Om Prakash??!! lead heroes like Amitabh Bachan, Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna, Navin Nishchal, Rishi Kapoor, even female lead artists like Hema malini, Deepti Naval, Mumtaaz, Saira Banu, Neetu Singh, ,Tina Munim, Shabana Azmi they all have proved their metal in this genre. Here I would specialy like to mention Hema Malini,,who's mine and my Biji's favorite heroine, her comic timing was simlpy superb !!, in real life also she's very witty, once at a crossing she was stopped by a traffic cop,,when she rolled down car's window, the Cop got her glimpse and thought of actin FRESH !!:D,,with her, took out his chalan book and inspite of the fact tht she's a well known actress, he asked " Aapka Naam", she got furious but smiled & very politely replied " JITENDER"!!!,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,rofl. now tht's what I call sense of humor,,:D

MUSIC- From fast beats (Sholay), to soft melodious ones, (chupke chupke), they had it all, if it’s R.D in Bombay to Goa, there’s Madan Mohan in Bawarchi & gr8 music from S.D in chupke chupke. Songs like “Koi Haseena jab” (Sholay), Title song Bombay to Goa, “udhey sab key kadam”(baton baton mein) I love all the songs of Sit Gita ( R.D Burrman, be it “Zindagi hai khel” or “abhi toh haath mein jam hai”,,stupendous songs all of em !! can’t write that much here, but I looove em all,,:D. oh! Just one more ,,,,lolzzz “Anthony Gonzalwayz” of Amar Akabar Anthony (LakshmiKant Pyarelal)

MAGICAL MEMORIES – The characters like Raka ,Veeru, Professor Parimal, Geeta, Ram Prasad, Anthony and his "sophisticated rhetorician intoxicated with the exuberance of your own verbosity",,,phew!!! Or “achaaaa” ,of Uttpal Dutt,,,lolzzz, ya phir “ahemm,,aaiihe,oh hoo Bhagyawaan” of Om Prakash,,,kya hum log bhul payengay kabhi??!!. A dialogue from Seeta Geeta where Manorama with ever rolling eyes was calling Hema Malini to get down from the fan of police station,,,"nechay aaja beti”,,,,& pat comes reply,,,”upper aja moti”,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,lolzzzzz, or ‘mausi ji” of veeru,” Asrani’s “hum angrezon key zamaaney key jelar hain”, or that fatso in Bombay to Goa shouting “PAKORA, PAKORA” “lolzzz, Jagdeep's "soooorma bhopaliii",,,all this and hundreds and thousands of HILARIOUS scenes and dialogues,,,we should all be thankful to the Indian Film Industry for giving us such Gems,,,, hain na??!! :)
