My dear friend Fenil, as promised I’m posting this under Fenil's Bollywood Talk 100 Weeks Celebrations!! This will be my dedication to our tremendously talented FENIL,,my Mr. Bollywood, “don’t mind”(sonali bendre in Sarfarosh) my knowledge in HINDI MOVIES is zero, as far as his is concerned, lolzzz, but fenil I’ll try,JUST FOR YOU,, ;) Today I’m posting first part, wait & watch out for FOUR more parts,,(waisey doubtful lagta hai,,,,lolzzz, but let’s see if I could pull it off??!!. & I request my fellow Msians to give their inputs,,)
From decades HINDI movies are part of our lives, be it musicals,action, romance, thrillers, horrors, suspense, dramas, parallel cinema or masala movies anything under the sun,we have at least one or two favorite genre, haven’t we?? :D
You all might have your favorites,, mine is COMEDY/HUMOR.Why??!!,, Arey itna kharcha karkey, time khoti karney ka nahin, boley toh ,apun ko entertainment mangata aai rey baba,,,lolzzz. Here I’ll share comedies and comic actors of various eras that touched my heart, I’m sure that u also like them a bit if not much.Don't forget to add your choices,i'm eagerly waiting,,:)
30’s 40’s 50’s &60’s
FILMS & FILM MAKERS – Though in the beginning there were not many films made in this satire, as far as my memory stretches !!,, it was an era of MYTHOLOGICAL films,, Albela (1951) was the introduction of a musical comedy in hindi films,made by Bhagwan Dada, music by Chitalkar, or C. Ramchandra. But Chalti ka Naam Gaadi (1958)can be tagged as the first hindi comedy movie. Other films like Pyar Kiye Ja (1966) by C.V. Sridhar, Ab Dilli Door Nahin (1957) by Amar Kumar, Junglee(1961) by Subodh Mukherjee,Half Ticket (1962)by Kalidas, Sadhu aur Shaitaan(1968)by A.bhimsingh, are few pictures of this era which are till date liked by all.
COMEDIANS/ HEROES/ HEROINS – Comedians were the integral part of the film, they had an identity of their own, and not just the side kicks of heroes/heroins.
Can anyone reach the inimitable style that Bhagwan Dada had,,,but our Big B’s still shaking his legs the way dada did years ago,,,,,,lolzzz. Artists like Johny Walker, Mehmood (shadu aur shaitaan 1968 was one movie written & made for this versatile comedian !!), Tuntun, Keshto Mukherjee, Mukri, Rabi Ghosh, Santosh Dutta, Rajinder Nath, Shashi kala, Lalita pawar, earned a name for themselves. Chalti ka Naam Gaadi gave us Kishore Kumar, a comedian hero !!,, who’s energy and wit could leave people into splits. The eternal beauty Madhubala and the cute doll like Geeta bali !!,,simply superb !!Everything about this era was just so innocent, bubbly, neat and clean, laughter dose, that’s it.
MUSIC - I still sing “chun chun karti aayi chidiya” ( ab dilli door nahin) & “dheerey sey aaja ankhian mein”(Albela)at bed time to my kids,,,,lolzz. Don’t we still love groovn on “bholi surat dil key khotey”??!!,and “shola jo bhadkey”,never mind even if it’s a remix but we still love it,,right??,,:D. and the funny one "cheel cheel chilla key"(half ticket). I ‘m a HUGE fan of all the songs of Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, be it “babu samjho isharey” or “ek ladki bheegi” or “hum they who thee”,,,,,,amazingly melodious music.
MAGICALMEMORIES – , I can never forget the squint eyed KESHTO MUKHERJEE,he always looked BEWADA,,lol. & tht bewda style used to come so naturally of him & that fatso tun tun,or the funny man Rajender Nath,,can u ever forget his “ hui - hui”,,,,,,,,,,,,,rofl,,,nah ??,I can’t & never will,even a look at his face can make me laugh,,:D The champi wala Johny Walker,,,,,,,,,,these are as eternal as our films,,,,,
Friends these are few of the RIB TICKLERS that I liked very very much & so presented to you,I know i'm missing out many,, :( I’ll be very glad if you all add on your choices also (from 30's!!,- 60's) , as always it’ll make my write up more valuable,,,,.

P.S. I thought Padosan was 70's release but ,it was 1968 so tht also comes in this part,,:) "ek chatur naar", "meri bindu rey bindu" !!!,,,unmatched humor ,no one can ever beat this movie, be it performances(Mehmood,Kishor Kumar,Sunil dutt) or music or direction, the comic timing of everyone is jus FAB.,,,,hain na "BANGDU"!!??,,lolzzzzz.
