So today the Supreme Court saved face of the inept home ministry led by Honorable Shivraj Patil. If Shivraj Patil had been such a failure in any corporate, he would have been shown the door by now. But he is still in that chair for reasons best known to the Prime Minister and Smt. Sonia Gandhi.

Did you read the statements from Lalu Prasad Yadav and Mulayam Singh Yadav? Here is the link: https://ibnlive.com/news/ban-or-no-ban-politicians-with-similar-views-unite--more/70567-3.html.

I quote -'A day after a special tribunal lifted the restrictions on the activities of SIMI, the order was stayed by the Supreme Court on Wednesday. But RJD chief Lalu Yadav and SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav made a strong pitch against the ban. While Lalu said “there should have been no ban on SIMI”, Mulayam claimed SIMI was not involved in any unlawful incident in Uttar Pradesh and there was no need to proscribe it.'.

Isn't this playing politics over national interest? After every major and minor terrorist incident, the central government's ministers have claimed 'SIMI's hand' in organizing the attacks. Yet, important member of the same government say that there should not be any ban on SIMI.

Mean while Congress mouthpieces in media (read Hindustan Times, CNN-IBN, NDTV) are busy blaming the blasts on 'Godhra Riots'. (https://ibnlive.com/blogs/rajdeepsardesai/1/52541/gujarat-beyond-ahmedabad.html) Even if you want to accede to this insinuation, how do you explain blasts in Bangalore, Mumbai, Malegaon, Jaipur, Hydrabad and so on! The fact is that our inclination to pander to vote bank politics has hampered security agencies' ability to pursue independent and truthful investigations.

No, the terrorist attacks cannot be 'justified' as reaction to an event that occurred years ago. This tendency has led to emboldening of terrorist morale. They have carried out rampant attacks without any fear of being caught and prosecuted. Why? Because, Indian state has failed to prosecute and convict guilty of any terrorist attacks in last 4 years. Hell, not a single investigation has reached its meaningful conclusion.

There were blasts last week. Everybody descended in Bangalore and Ahmedabad to console the victims. Everybody praised resilience of citizens of both cities. Ministers hinted at foreign hand. PM assured of a befitting response. Everybody went back to Delhi and went back to routine, while terrorists plan their next attacks. 3 months down the road another series of blasts rips through another city. People die. And cycle is repeated. That is the sad State of Indian state right now!
