2008 has seen its last Friday and all of the movies of this year are out. Very soon the season of movie awards will start and the actors/technicians who did good work in 2008 will be awarded.
Sometimes I wonder why we don’t have ‘Bad Movie Awards’ like Razzies in Hollywood. Bollywood dishes out so much garbage every year that it is a crime not to have our own Razzies. So I’m listing below my own opinion of ‘Razzies’ or ‘Nariyal Awards’ (inspired by SRK/Saif in Filmfare awards). It was really difficult to choose a few among so many bad movies and performances but I have tried to do my best!
So here are the Nariyal Awards for 2008 (I have made some changes on popular demand) :-
Worst Actor – Himesh Reshammiya (Karzzzzz)
Worst Actress – Kareena Kapoor (Golmaal Returns)
Worst Debut (Male) – Mimoh Chakraborty (Jimmy)
Worst Debut (Female) – Shweta Kumar (Karzzzz)
Worst Movie – Tie between Yuvvraj & Drona
Worst Direction – Subhash Ghai (Yuvvraj)
Worst Script - Kidnap
Worst Music – Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi
Worst Choreography – Talli Hua (Singh is King)
2 Special Awards for Most Embarassing Performances of the Year – Rajesh Khanna (Wafaa) / Kamaal Khan (Deshdrohi)
Special Award for ‘Naam Bade Aur Darshan Chote’ of the Year – Tie between Drona & Love Story 2050
The above is my personal opinion. I request everybody to contribute your own opinions on the worst of 2008. I am sure there are a lot of deserving candidates in Bollywood!
