Marriage - for the bride, groom and people around!

My elder cousin from my mother's side, who was a good cricket player.. is finally getting married next month!

Why I say finally is because his parents had been longing to get him married ever since he started taking care of his father's business. As the day keeps on approaching nearer and nearer with every passing day, all of us relatives are tensed.. About the arrangements, about what clothes do we wear, about interacting with the ladki-wallahs.

A wedding in the family is most looked forward to; it is a time when our tensions and everyday concerns are shoved away and kept in a mental locker. Because the celebrations, and the realm of such thoughts occupy our mind.

But just imagine the plight of both the bride and groom at this stage - he is just entering a completely new world of responsibilities and has company of a fairly new person to share it all with. But the plight is just more pronounced for the bride, who in a country like ours, has to almost leave a portion of her old world behind, to enter a home of completely new people. A make or break situation for her. Either this would end up being the day she had always been waiting for, or it can end up being a completely dreadful decision. Even if it is a love marriage where both the boy and girl are known to each other pretty well, the in laws are people whose characteristics she is not aware of. And in many cases she has to spend her entire life under the same roof as theirs..

Whether it is a love or an arranged marriage, marital relationships rely and stand forth on two very important factors - Trust and understanding.. Although I am not a married creature (?) myself,I hope many who have gone through the experience of attending their own wedding would know what I am talking about here..

Ok, enough of this seriously dementnig stuff! bring the dholaks, DJs, mouth watering recipes, good clothes and celebrations all over! We have a shaadi in our family!!
