Is our independence just a one day celebration?

"15th August, the only day of the year when patriotic emotions & nationalism run high on Indians... as rest of the year we are too busy misusing & exploiting India's Independence in every possible manner!!".

YES,

This day we get our Indian flag pinned on our apparels, it’s on our car's dashboard, set as wallpapers on mobile & social networking sites, placed at home and offices, etc.. But,

Does that make us a patriot or a true Indian? Think!

Then there is an attempt to remember and pay homage to our great freedom fighters by playing patriotic song everywhere. But,

Can we really justify the very purpose of their struggle & sacrifices by merely playing patriotic songs and remembering them? Think!

We are greeting “Happy Independence day” to each other but,

Are we really happy for the Independence or is it for the holiday that we enjoy? Think!

All schools, colleges, Govt offices, public utility services and various other institutions are hosting Indian flags but,

Is the true value of 'freedom' still intact or has it diminished in all these places? Think!

We observe a great array of celebrations right from our India Gate to the swanky newsrooms of our overenthusiastic broadcasting media and there is festive environment all across the country, but we fail to ask ourselves the most important question on this significant day,

Is our independence just a one day celebration? Think!

Well, It’s time to think!!
