Well, there was this Dr from Timbuktu, who got married recently 2 a beautiful young Hyderabadi girl. The newly wedded husband & wife settled down in the nitty gritty of building their Ashiana.

One Afternoon the Dr.'s wife receives a Note from her Dr.Husband.But alas, she can't make head or tail of the Note as the writing was illegible. This Chaloo Hyderabadi bride takes the Dr. note 2 the nearest medical shop, as over years she noticed that the pharmacist manage 2 read any prescription of the Dr.The Chemist glances at the Dr's Note & gives her few tablets & syrup bottle. The Lady presume as she was suffering from mild cold in the Morning, the nice Dr. had send her the prescription.

Late in the evening our Dr. comes home with 2 gentlemen, but finds his new bride fast asleep in the bedroom.Minutes go by & so do hours. As the clocks ticks the gentlemen help themselves with snacks & drinks. At about 11 PM late in the night they take leave of the Dr.The Dr. enters the bedroom & gently wakes up his new bride. He then inquires with her,why she had not cooked the famed Hyderabadi Biryani 4 his friends as mentioned in the note send across 4 her in the morning.

Well,What is the Story about?

Think when the last time you ever wrote a letter,an actual letter anything more than a page.Aaahhhhhhh History. It will take a rare alignment of the moon & stars 4 such an event 2 happen.

Greeting cards, School Notes,Letters,Reports,Documents,Blog, culture, idioscript, life, love, random, writing,Shopping lists & what else? The occasions in which we write by hand are fewer & fewer & lesser & lesser. So is the ancient art form of handwriting dying out?

A century from now,our handwriting may only be legible 2 experts.4 some, that is already the case where letters fly from Tokyo 2 London with chicken scrawling all over. When our great-great-grandchildren find that letter of ours in the attic, they'll have 2 take it 2 a specialist,an old guy at the library who would decipher the strange symbols 4 them,Oh Just like in films.

But I did Notice that the art of handwriting is declining fast, last week when I found a student scribbling on his Mobile instead of a Book. What a innovation of technology.I have also seen few sit back in class & record sessions 2 listen laterrather than write notes. My handwriting is of course bad & my spelling not any better.I,in fact Use less of White Board & Marker Pen & tell my students that my handwriting is bad. My teaching Aid is PowerPoint presentations. My Days of teacher with Black & White Boards,Chalks & Dusters & with Chalk Dust on hands, face & Hair are Gone.So have the Students 2.If everything we do still had 2 be done by hand, there would not be enough hours in the day 2 complete the Session.

Kids,if not this generation then the next may grow up using only a crude form of writing 4 the rare occasions in life, when they need 2 correspond by pen.Kids Do complain a lot esp during exams saying "We have 2 write so much, with the clock ticking."The end result is so difficult 2 interpret that even I have 2 focus on occasions 2 work out what they have written.

So once kids leave college, does it really matter?Apart from the odd shopping list,post-it-note,do people still need 2 use a paper & pen?In many jobs though, a person can go 4 months, even years, writing only the odd message in their own hand writing. But look at the decline in letter writing.Few People whom I knew a decade ago who scribbled out 10-page letters during a night in bed have now probably not yet written 10 pages of handwritten words of any kind in the past year.

These days, the shape of ovals, loops & slants matter less than what they write 2 convey.Content is everything, the stress is much more on having a go & expressing yourself & getting the ideas down rather than the hand writing.I remember those days of schooling, where we had extra marks 4 good hand writing,I wonder what teachers would make of that now.

Recently I was trying 2 find some one who could hand write a few certificates 4 me.Aahh What a pain full exercise It was.The few I could find, even their pens were barely heard scratching on the certificates. With advance technology,an increasing amount of the information is being entered directly on 2 a computer & read from the computer.Progress cannot be stopped. But will that replace the old fashioned letter writing with Hand?

More methods, more media, more information, more, more, more, more! How much that is said or written really matters? Not much. It's not quantity but quality that counts. There is 2 much of noise & less of Melodious Music. All comes with its pros & cons.

The keyboard & the screen are swapping pen & paper as tool of letter writing.Forget the charily handwritten letter. These days it's more likely 2 be a txt msg cu l8r aft da cmts!
