Innocent Delhi university students dies after Uber driver rams in truck

An untoward accident had led to four students of Delhi university getting severely injured when an Uber cab was rammed into a truck parked near sector 16A on September 23.


One of the victims of the accident has succumbed to the injuries and died today in the hospital. The student Kaayum Pegu was a 20-year old Delhi university students pursuing English Honours at Miranda House college


"She had suffered critical injuries in head and lungs. She was admitted in ICU of the hospital. The victim did not respond to the medical treatment and succumbed to injury in the morning," said VB Joshi, spokesperson of the Kailash Hospital Noida where she died


The accident occurred when Kayyum and her three friends were returning home in an uber cab after celebrating their friend's birthday on the night of September 23.


It has been reported that Out of the four who were injured, Akshara Badola(20) and


Siddharth Pathak(19) are stable and out of danger. The fourth girl Kalita had escaped with minor injuries and was discharged from hospital after primary treatment.


According to a Hindustan Times report, the driver had been arrested and presented in court on the day of the accident itself but was released on bail
