The present IPL's timing is very untimely coming soon after the WC 2011. Except for ardent cricket fans , few would like to watch most matches except the ones featuring their own team (if any). The addition of Pune and Kochi makes matters worse with Maharastra boasting of two teams, I feel all other major states and regions too to shall jump into the fray.
I suggest creation of following teams from next season on wards :
Guwahati Gunners ( Assam and NE)
Ranchi Rodeos ( Jarkhand)
Patna Panthers ( Bihar)
Lucnow Launchers (UP)
Himalayan Heroes ( Uttaranchal, Himachal)
Baroda Bombers ( Gujarat)
Waltair Warriors ( Coastal AP) .. (some Telangana friens will be Happy)
Bubhaneswar Bulls (Orissa)
Rapid fire Raipur ( Chattisgarh)
Sri Nagar Sizzlers ( Kashmir)
Bhopal ..... (MP) .. Iam not getting a name as I have exhausted all my creativity.

To be able to tackle so many teams , the Regional Pre-leagues shall be played , which will create two top teams from each region and leagues will be played by these eight top teams.
A law shall be passed making watching of these matches ( atleast 25% of them) in Govt offices and Schools mandatory for promotion and should also be a precondition to own ration cards and UID card. This will offer a captive audience for theto be launched TV-IPL Cricket Channel the year long.
