This scene works so well because the entire movie helped to set it up. During the course of the movie, Loki treated the audience to some epic evil rants. When the Hulk confronted Loki, it looked like we were going to get another rant, as Loki said, ?I am a god, you dull creature, and I will not be bullied by?? But Hulk doesn?t wait to hear what comes next, and he grabs Loki and smashes him repeatedly into the ground. Then, Hulk sums it up with two words, ?Puny god!?
