An immensely talented side modern invincible's got thrashed in the first test match at Pune!

World No. 2 side came on top as they were up and running from the start and never gave Indian team even a snip of a chance to get into the game. It all started from the toss as Oz Captain Steve Smith choose to bat first on a pitch which going to assist the spinners from the ball one.

'It looks like a 3rd-day pitch' quoted by some of India's cricket experts during the pitch report and they also added that toss is going to be a crucial factor on this pitch. But with Ashwin and Jadeja, many of us were still backing India and expecting our bowlers to restrict them under 250.

They were 205-9 at one stage but that 62 runs scored by their left-arm quick Starc gave them an upper hand and their bowlers a respectable total to bowl to. Indian team came to bat but with early fall of wickets, they couldn't able to build the platform to get the big first innings lead. India was down to 44-3 before lunch on the 2nd day, though KL Rahul showed some resistance in the middle but after reaching fifty runs mark he threw his wicket by playing a needless short.

India was 94-4 when Rahul got out, collapsed for 105 losing 6 wickets within a span of 11 runs. Australia got 155 runs 1st innings lead.

All were still believing that World No.1 side would show some fight back in the 2nd innings but due to poor catching by India's closing fielders and a blistering knock of 109 from their captain Steve Smith Australia successfully posted a target of 440 runs.

Indian batting order failed once again in the 2nd innings and the whole team was back in the pavilion for 107 giving Australia a massive victory of 333 runs. Steve O'keefe was adjourned man of the match for his match-winning figures of 12/70.

Virat Kohli accepted the loss and said that" every loss is an opportunity to learn". I take the loss on the chin.

Now Cricketing fans will be eyeing on how Virat Kohli and his side would reply to this humiliating defeat in the upcoming test match at Bangalore.
