"Sleeping" is science and an integral part of our biological system. But what when this very element turns out into a horrifying experience?
Something of this sort happened in my hometown Gandhinagar (Kolhapur). Recently, I had been to visit my parents over there and my cousin brother shared a very rare incident that took place in the vicinity.
It was summer time and many people in the locality use to sleep on the terris of their homes and some try a bit more adventure and sleep in the "Gully"just outside their homes. The victim here was a common man and after a long day of work at a cloth shop came down to have a lovely snap. After having a hefty dinner and some "Madira"he took his "Khaat"and lay out of his home to have some natural air and breeze. In no time the roaring "Kharaatas"filled the air..........
The problem here was that this fellow had a tendency of having a very deep sleep and even after trying very hard he wont wake up ... at all. Thanks to the work load and that lovely "Madiraa". This habbit of his was creating problems for the people who would wake up early in the morning to reach their destinations but couldn’t do it, since the fellow used to be in lane obstructing everyone and would be in no mood to give up his sleep. After several requests the man just kept repeating his nonsense almost every night. The neighbors were very furious about this and decided to teach the sleeping beauty a big lesson.
One good night, the man did it again and did that for the last time..... That night after the man was deep asleep, some 8-10 people tied the fellow with straps and took him along with this "Khaat"to the nearby Cremation Ghat! The Cremation Ghat from the venue was around half a km and despite all that dwindling and constant movement of the "Khaat" the man just was fast asleep! They kept him over in the "Samshaan Bhoomi" and returned peacefully....
It was around 7 AM and the man was lying in that place and was tied to his "Khaat". When he was awake he realized that the place he slept was different then the place he woke up! AND AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (He realized as to where he was) He kept on shouting until somebody from the nearby slums came to the rescue.
It was a talk of fun in the entire village and the man learnt his lesson the hard way. After all that happened with the chap, I just wonder whether he still gets some sleep if not sweet and deep....
