Holi ke din…

By: atulrt | Posted Mar 15, 2014 | General | 350 Views

That was a Holi-day(festival of colors); I called Rohini in the morning to greet her. She was at her hostel in Wardha. After playing colors with my family, friends, & neighbors, I started for Wardha on my Hero Honda Splendor. My heart started singing all the romantic Hindi film songs, right from ‘Aaj unse pehli mulakhat hogi’ to ‘Tumse milne ki tamanna hai.’ The whole eighty kilometers long journey seemed very romantic and the road to Wardha full of love. As I reached Wardha, I called Rohini,

‘Hi Madam, where are you?’

‘Where else can I be, Sir? I am at my college hostel.’ She replied.

‘Didn’t you play Holi?’

‘Of course I played colors with my mates and enjoyed a lot. But all of us are tired now. So gonna rest at hostel. What about you?’

‘Me? I played colors with family and friends. But I was missing you, so thought of playing colors with you.’

‘Good thought. But I am not in Nagpur. So you can play colors with me in dreams only.’ She said, oblivious to the fact that I was in her city…in her vicinity.

‘Hmmm. I know you are not in Nagpur. But can’t I come to Wardha to play colors with you?’

‘Oh! So you are coming to Wardha, is it?’

‘No; I am in Wardha, my Sweety. Now you tell me, when are you coming out of your hostel to meet me?’

‘What? You are in Wardha, where?’

‘I am just standing outside your hostel. So come fast.’

‘But… You didn’t tell me that you are coming today?’ She complained.

‘That’s what we call a surprise, darling. Now come fast as I am waiting here,’ I was desperate to meet her.

‘But Raj, I can’t come out to meet you. Try to understand yaar. Our warden has warned us not to go out today because of the festival.’ She informed.

‘What rubbish? I have come to meet to you all the way from Nagpur and you are giving me silly excuses.’

‘This is not silly Raj. Whatever I am saying is true, if you want, you can ask the security guard of our hostel. And why did you come today? Did I ask you to come?’ She retorted.

I tried to persuade her for a five minutes tryst, but she didn’t agree. And, I lost my temper.

‘Go to hell, then. You are a fking bth. I don’t want to meet you ever in my life. fk off,’ I shouted over phone and turned my bike towards Nagpur road. The same road, which seemed full of love to me an hour back, was now seeming full of thorns. I was very upset with Rohini and didn’t reply any of her call or message on my way. And when I reached home, I messaged her,

‘Only if you come to meet me at Nagpur, I’ll forgive you. Thanks.’

However, I couldn’t stop thinking about her. I couldn’t even sleep that night, thinking about Rohini’s intentions behind avoiding meeting me.
