Dear Mr. Kumar,
Reference Number: 050920096293
Your HSBC Credit Card: 4384xxxxxxxx3517
We refer to your E-mail dated 05 September 2009 regarding your HSBC
Credit Card.
At the outset please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience
caused to you due to your experience with HSBC.
The card was not a life time free card as per our records.
Annual fee is part of the regular tariff structure on your HSBC credit
card and hence its charged to your account in the anniversary month.
Reversal of annual fee is offered if such a promotional scheme is
applicable.
The card account has been closed by the bank with effect from 02
February 2009 and there is no card outstanding due as on date.
We take this opportunity to inform to inform you that, CIBIL is an
initiative of the Government of India and the Reserve Bank of India
(RBI) to improve the functionality and stability of the Indian financial
system. This is in line with the RBI’s efforts to provide an effective
mechanism for exchange of information between banks and financial
institutions, thereby enabling customers to avail of better credit terms
from various financial institutions. This is as per normal business
standards across banks.
Accordingly, all banks and financial institutions participating in this
initiative are required to share customer data with CIBIL. In view of
the above, we wish to inform you that we shall be reporting the data
pertaining to your account with us to CIBIL. The same information will
be submitted to CIBIL and hence will reflect on your account status and
credit records with CIBIL.
CIBIL is not a defaulter’s list. It is a credit information bureau to
which member credit institutions contribute data of all customers who
have availed a loan or a credit card on a monthly basis. Hence a
customer’s name cannot be removed from CIBIL Database.
Please feel free to write to us if you require further clarification.
Yours sincerely,
SK Asif Iqbal

Dear Mr Iqbal,
Could you please clarify if it is not deafulter's list then what is the meaning of
'The same information will be submitted to CIBIL and hence will reflect on your account status and credit records with CIBIL.'
And in attachment which is the letter of settlement of my 'dues' -----As communicated vide the credit card terms and conditions and our subsequent letters with regard to your credit card dues, your default in payment of credit dues on time and the non-settlement of the dues in entirety, has been reported to all relevant credit reference agencies.
Implies that I'm the defaulter.
Your agent later on when I caught him up told me clearly that HSBC trains them to tell them that card is free and sign up and if I'm angry I can beat him up.......!!!!!!!Excellent training I must confess...
Just for your information, all my dues were just recurring on your 'annual dues'.
It is affront to my prestige and honesty.
HSBC's fraudulent practises can't take it very far.
I'd be still interested in explanation of above as to when u send my information to CIBIL, would u not equate me with other credit card defaulters????And if I need credit card from other banks (though I'd think thrice...) would that be not a negative courtesy HSBC....
