Of felled trees, and uprooted stems, World is a lot different than what it was. I wonder, if the world is blinded by development, or is it a mere turn of events termed evolution. The under-construction buildings, being constructed over lush green forests to accommodate our diamond-studded dreams, smirk profoundly.

Of cemented walkways, and crowded shopping malls, World is a lot closer than what it was. We don't move a muscle to order groceries, yet we sweat profusely on the newly bought exercycle. Life's confusing, and yet we (supposedly,) are living it to the fullest.

The sight of greener pastures, however rare and minuscule might the sight be, brings a ray of hope. The hope of prosperity. The promises of a home, away from the rush of the urban life, seems to be the main catch-line of every advertising campaign. Tempting, very tempting.

The bare-foot walk, on a patch of slippery, dew-clad grass, is a distant thought. Not so distant, is our future. A future, where the most green, one would see would stay on a captioned T-Shirt. A future, where compassion would only be a word found in dictionaries.

As I walk on that lone, patch of green, in front of my yard, I find a few drops of dew, and a couple of empty chewing gum wrappers sticking to my feet.

World is a lot different than what it was.
