Inventions are the stepping stones to the Jetsons age. Future changes with these innovations. These game changers are the heroes of the world of technology. A toast to these heroes and their inventions, here's a list of 2013's top 10 not in the exact order:


The Mission R


Its an electric superbike with a 160-hp engine that accelerates from 0-60 in 3 seconds. It has a top speed of 150 mph/ 240 kmph and goes up to 140 miles without refueling. The best part, it can charged at any place with an electric outlet.


The Plus Pool


A floating pool on the East River, New York is not just about luxury. This pool designed by Dong-Ping Wong, Archie Lee Coates IV and Jeffrey Franklin serves two purposes: filters the water and acts as a swimming pool for New Yorkers.


Edible Password Pill


The edible password pill saves you from the hassle of memorizing passwords. Ingested once daily, a tiny chip in the pill activates using the stomach acid. It then emits an 18-bit EKG-like signal that is detected by the phone making your body your password to log in.


Invisible Skyscraper


A skyscaper that blends into the city's skyline to be built in Seoul, South Korea by GDS Architects. An anti-skyscraper first of its kind, 1476 feet or 450m high with the third highest obsevation deck in the world. It will serve as a recreation centre with a 4D theatre, restaurants, water park, etc. The highlight of the tower is the view from the top.


Driverless Toy car


Toy cars that drive by themselves with the help of sensors attached in them. These sensors feed data to an iPhone or iPad using which players can control the speed and position of the cars.


Cronut


A fusion food that bewitched foodies in NewYork City. Chef Dominique Ansel created cronut – a croissant style pastry fried like a donut. These cronuts sold like hot cakes with customers even willing to wait for hours to savour this dish.


Bounce Imaging Explorer


A compact imaging device which can be used in disaster areas. The Bounce Imaging Explorer comes with a shock-absorbing shell with embedded cameras and bundles of near-infrared LEDs that light up dark rooms. The emegency worker first syncs the device to a smartphone or tablet and throws this smart ball into the danger zone. It promptly starts taking pictures of the surrounding and tests for methanem, carbon monoxide and alarmingly high temperatures. The microprocessor in the ball then creates a panorama of images and converts the raw data for transmission over Wi-Fi to the synced device.


Gravity Light


Millions of people who cannot afford electricity live on kerosene lamps, even kerosene is costly for them and not to mention toxic. This invention is a clean and smart money saving alternative of lighting a house created by Jim Reeves and Martin Riddiford. All it requires is heavy materials such as rocks, dirt, sand, etc to be placed in the attached fabric bag. As the bag plummets, it pulls a notched belt which triggers rotation of a series of plastic gears which in turn powers the LED for 30 minutes. It can also power low-voltage devices like batteries.


Tooth Tattoo


Not exactly a fashion trend, the tattoo made out of graphene, flexible enough to stay attached to the tooth enamel, will be used to detect tooth, gum diseases, depending on the bacteria its programmed to detect.
