Virtual Gifts, MS Mall. At times all these words remind me of my childhood again. You must be thinking why Payal is getting so nostalgic nowadays. For the simple reason that that was the best time of our life and recollecting those memories leaves me smiling. How... ???

When we are kids, the only thing that bothered us in a big way was "exams". When we grow up though the exams become a thing of the past for most of us, most of the times, there are so many more cobwebs, we find ourselves entangled into. I am sure most of the readers will agree with me on this. Incase you think differently; please feel free to voice your opinion in the comments section. It will be great to know your viewpoints too.

Coming back to the main topic:GIFTS.

I still remember how elated we used to be when some friend used to invite us over for their birthday parties. A shy knock on the door and almost mumbling in their mouths, "Aunty please kal Payal, Sunny ko hamare ghar bhej dena".So, what's the occasion, my mother used to enquire? "Aunty, kal mera (ya mere bhai, ya meri bahen ka b'day hai)".At times, we used to be disappointed if only one of us was invited.

Thereafter we used to set out to buy gift for the boy or girl. The most common ones were, board games like Monopoly, Snakes and Ladders & Ludo combo, Doll or Doll set, Geometry or pencil box, Crayons, Color Pencils, at times Chess for the nerds or something specific if our close friend has given some idea of what he/she wants. What sort of gifts did you buy for your friends, please share with me. It will be loads of fun.

We used to dress in our best party attire and get ready to have some fun, masti and loads of goodies. And of course, no birthday party was complete without "Return Gifts".We used to really look forward to getting beautiful pencil sets, crayons or lots of toffees.

Similar churning of the stomach also took place, if the reason for celebration was my birthday. The excitement of decorating the drawing room with balloons, adorning all friends with masks or caps, cutting the different shaped cakes my Dad used to order, listening to everyone singing the birthday jingle: just for you, bursting the balloon filled with éclairs or melody, graciously accepting the birthday gifts (At the same time mentally picturing what it contains), giving away return gifts and then waiting for everyone to leave so that.... we can open all the gifts.

Now let’s, put all this suspense to rest and reveal the reason for this post.

I am celebrating getting 100 virtual gifts from my MS friends.

Though there have been so many friends who have generously showered me with gifts, forsaking their hard earned MS points, but the one who gave the 100th one is the one we all love: yes our dear Paulie. Thanks Paul for making it so special for me!!!

I also take this opportunity to thank all those who have or haven't gifted me something or other since my getting attached to MS. For those who have, I am really grateful for the love and care you have showered on me. For those who haven't, just chill, I am sure you must have thought about me sometime or the other and that's all that matters.

Since the time I have been associated with Mouthshut, I have met so many people virtually, interacted with quite many of them and made some real good friends. This post is dedicated to all those who have touched my life and of course made a difference.

Thanks so much for being there for me!!!

Love

Payal
