Dear Appa,

This one is for you Appa... The most loving soul I have ever seen in my life… The most hardworking person I have ever admired in my life… It’s not just this day I think of you... It’s not just this day I thank you… Here am I… Your only son and with all my love when I sketch this thought, you smile… I know a lot about you. You have gone through lot of rough patches in life and if I’m enjoying all this comfort, then it’s you my Appa. You named me Nithin Jacoband my friends call me ‘N J’ in short to convey the message that they adore me…

Long time ago, you advised me to work hard. The days when I spent with you and the nights when you taught me proverbs in living, has come to use in many ways. At times when I chose the off beam path to know more about ‘pleasure’, has gone all the way flawed for me. I know it’s not easy at all to bring up a child like me. For all the time spent in this planet, those luxuries and memoirs can’t be replaced with your love and care. You have corrected me whenever I went through the wrong course in life… You fought your conflict and crossed the streams to become a Master in all the fields you have touched… I know a lot about your early days… You never had a Television, Computer or a Laptop… And you never enjoyed much in your life since you were engaged in building up a future for your generation…

Appa… I’m bad when it comes to scripting or painting the sky… I think a lot and today, I was inspired to note a few lines about you. I have everything in life. There is nothing that I lack and I know it’s all because of you… The person who have encouraged me and stood by in all that I have asked for... Sometimes when I feel so lonely and not knowing how to fill the loneliness in me, I call you up and speak. In a gentle voice, you ask me to come home. I remember the days you used to pick me up from the school. We used to celebrate Christmas together and it was great fun. As we pass by the streets admiring the Christmas stars and trees, I have noticed thosetiny stars winking at us...

It’s not all over Appa… The days are yet to come… Your son is going to make you proud. He is chasing stars to launch his vision which is set for you to beam. And I’m coming home and when this note reaches you, all I know is that you will smile. Because, you don’t show the world what you think. And that’s the best quality I’ve observed in you.

Just before I end this note, let me tell you again… I know a lot about you… It’s not just this day I think of you. It’s not just this day I thank you… Here am I… Your only son and with all my love when I sketch this note, you smile…

Love,

Mon
