DILWALE VS BAJIRAO MASTANI!

The stage is set! Many people thought that Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani clash would eventually not happen. But believe it or not, 2 big films are indeed releasing, knowing very well that they will eat into each other's business and perhaps none of them might be able to create box office records.

Both films have things going in favour and against them. Dilwale seems to be in the race ahead as it stars popular actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. The film looks like a fun-filled masala entertainer and is directed by Rohit Shetty, one of the biggest filmmakers today. That SRK and Kajol are back is also a huge reason why many are immensely excited. Their chemistry in Gerua and Janam Janam is outstanding! Varun & Kriti too looks superb together. The makers have assured that Dilwale has loads of twists and turns and will keep viewers engaged. Sadly, a section of viewers have doubts whether the film will succeed. Also, as of now(Dec 17, 2015 3:20 PM), Dilwale is not getting enough screens as Bajirao Mastani has taken away the maximum single screens. Dilwale is a film that will score in the single screens but since it's not releasing in these theatres, the business will be affected for sure. Also, a small section of people want to boycott the film thanks to SRK's'anti-India' comment but all that is not going to affect at all.

Bajirao Mastani, on the other hand, is Sanjay Leea Bhansali's grandest magnum opus till date. It stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra. The songs are soulful while the sets, battle scenes, grandeur etc take the breath away. All three principle actors look amazing together and viewers are hoping that Ranveer-Deepika will recreate their Ram-Leela magic. On the flipside, the film is not a'typical entertainer' of sorts. Hence, a section of viewers will surely keep away from the film. The movie has got the single screens but what use will that be if audiences don't come out in hordes to catch the film? Also, many have criticized what they call the historical inaccuracy especially in the song Pinga.

As of now, it is very difficult to say who will eventually collect the most. Dilwale surely has an upper hand. But it has to be well-made. Or else, it can crash from Day 2 itself. Eventually, the films can surely do 150 cr+ business as they have 3 weeks with no competition as such(Star Wars does release next Friday but it's not a big series in the hinterland like Fast & Furious). Here's hoping that both films are well made and both earn considerably at the box office!
