WILL KILL DIL WORK BIG TIME?
Yash Raj Films is all set to release their big film Kill Dil tomorrow. The film looks promising and if all goes well, it can prove to be a huge hit at the box office.
Kill Dil stars Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra, Ali Zafar and above all, Govinda, who is definitely a huge draw. The songs of the film have gradually picked up and after the release, it should hopefully get even more popular. Parineeti gets to portray her glamorous side finally and is even seen donning a swimsuit in a film. Her romance with Ranveer looks great. Govinda seems to be in top form, as always, while Ali too is also expected to deliver a nice performance in the film. It is directed by Shaad Ali who has made a mark with Saathiya and Bunty Aur Babli. The film is a mix of action, drama and romance and looks quite massy. Hence, it can work in both single screens and multiplexes.
Kill Dil however faces challenges too. The excitement for the film is limited. Many feel it looks too similar to Gunday(which also featured two heroes who are criminals and how their world topples when a glamorous woman enters their life). Because of limited buzz, the opening might be decent but not extraordinary, like Gunday. However, if the film is liked by people, there’s no reason why it won’t be a box office success. It’s a solo release and moreover, the previous week’s mega release The Shaukeens has underperformed. Also, Happy New Year is done with almost 95% of its lifetime collections. Hence, Kill Dil is having a major release in India and can work big time.
