Facebook obviously has reputation at stake being owned by Microsoft. Todays TOI states that they My Space & Facebook who are rivals have come to a strategic understanding to remove Fake ids from their network. 90 K offenders have been deleted from My Space and Facebook seems to have deleted much larger nos of Fake Ids.
These fake ids target abroad children and women and induce them towards sexual perversion and acts on line. If the victims do not respond than they are spammed beyond toleration and ultimately the genuine id departs from the forum thus diminishing the no of genuine members.
Other day when Amrita accused one of our reputed stars of creating fake ids, I don t think she would squeeled in a vaccuum. I sent her an M2M stating that if you have proof that a star writer has created fake id please take it up with the MS management and ensure that the star writer is warned not to create a fake id. Here she accused that he had used to prop up his image, but other stars may use it for harassing other members by nasty comments too. The easy way is to find out through IP, whether fake ids are or not, which only the administrative team can identify.
My concern on fake ids cropped up when Amrita, Freesoul, etc have been openly expressing opinion that fake ids are on the rise, and it needs cracked down by the MS team. It not only leads to spamming in future but also will lead to bad blood among genuine members. Female ids will be target of attack by these fake ids. My request to MS management is come out openly on the subject matter and let us know how many fake ids they have deleted and how many members have been warned not to indulge in creation of fake ids. If the MS management allows continuation of such fake ids, just to prop up nos, than I don t have any comment.

I hope other Msians too who are victims of fake ids comment on their diary post will concur with me on the action needed to curb this vicious trend of maligning and demoralising a genuine members.
