A very memorable incident but really very funny forced me to write a few lines today. As I carried on field researches for long years I remember a funny day when we were sent for some data collection work long back to some rural areas. However the group was divided into groups comprising of two persons in each group. My friend was really a lazy person who usually wanted to skip the work. After my days hard work I would find him sleeping in the hotel as if he was send to climb the Everest.
My lips dry, the face dry , no food, no water, throughout the day....My friend would complain that ts a difficult job and he had to get the things done by means of sub-contracting. No way out for he would probably find out some easy source of completing the work. At the end of the week he would flee home for two days, without the knowledge of the coordinator and come and join us on Monday.
One day the coordinator saw him and was surprised to see him in the market place, whereas all others were in the field work. The coordinator shouted, and he at once came to the knowledge and thought he should not reply and flee. That very day without spending any time he went back to the field in fear .
Repeated phone calls in the hotel room verifying whether he is available. And suddenly when my friend reached the hotel he got this golden opportunity to pick up the phone. The coordinator was surprised to hear his voice but without uttering any word asked him to report office at the earliest.
The coordinator questioned? He replied that it was not he probably his cousin whom everybody mistakes from distance. The coordinator was surprised to hear this and asked his brother to meet him. The next day his brother reported and the coordinator was surprised to see him...What a great confusion. And finally data collection work was over.
