The trend across India is TV Soaps also called mega serials in South. If you happen to see any of the Tamil serials in some leading satellite channels, after a few episodes you will loose hope in all the good things in life. And add to that the bottom line all the serials say is -Don't be good..Be evil. As a trend there is one women who braves all the odds and she has to fight so many villains....take for example the serial Kolangal in Tamil..it is going on for the last five years and even if you see it for the first time today you will figure out what has happened in the last five years..this is one of the most irritating and pessimistic serials..the character Adhi is one of the most over acted one with his pseudo literate attitude..for instance this character does so many unlawful deeds and yet roams very freely..yet another outrageous charter is Menaka..always called 'Ms.Menaka'..if u had watched closely she comes in most of the scenes always working in an old laptop ( I think its 1990's Compaq) and more funny is she is furiously typing and on the screen I saw once the 'My Computer folder'..Btw what to type in that folder..LOL.
This director who comes as Tholkappian..another joker and on top of that eternal heroine Abhi.... I ran a google search on this Kolangal serial..and so many people had put in their frustrated comments..hahahah..
While even the most serious scenes in this serial looks like a comedy..the TV channel which telecast's this stretches it for TRP..
The serial seriously defames the Police, the Justice system, the business community, the journalists, on being good and core human values.
When will these kind of serials end???
