Congress Needs Structural Reconstruction

Weak opposition party is serious concern for the nation. Nowadays congress is facing hard setback from every state of India except Punjab and Karnataka. What is the problem with congress? Why people rejecting congress? Is their future for congress? Will congress uprooted from India? There are many questions in the mind of common people and core voters of the congress. First is that congress will never washout from Indian states but may be damaged too much. Bulks of people follow the ruling government for enjoying the fruits of the power. Next is that money and power, power and money goes hand-to-hand for ruling party. Congress neglected to construct second and third chain of leaders. Only caste factor will not work in politics but economic progress have the more splendid future so congress should focus on the new ways of economic development. They should ignite the minds of grass root level voluntaries of the party.

In Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh playing good role for congress party, it will be turning point in coming days for party. On the other hand Siddaramaiah in Karnataka also in aggressive mode of progress. Goa was the best opportunity but lazy way and weak decision power lost the opportunity of congress chief minister. Major states are in the hands of BJP, and they have thirteen chief ministers. Though Utter Pradesh and Bihar opened the gate for BJP, Assam conquered; still Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu are in waiting. Mamata Banerji’s Bengal and Odisha have their own existence of left wing, little in Kerala. Congress should focus on Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Punjab because there are roots of congress still it can raise with fresh new branches for party. I think now rather than following Uttar Pradesh as game changer, party should concentrate on Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan because these states are reflecting anti- incumbency for BJP, acquiring hold on these state, they can move to other. If party changes structure in Gujarat giving whole and sole power to imperious leader, there will be certainly hope for congress.

Now let me focus on the structural level of the congress party. It is clear that party still stick to the leaders those are before or after the partition movement devoted for party’s expansion. Now there is the need of the new influential young leaders, those can lead the new generation after the nineteenth. If there is a combination of leader those have legacy of freedom movement and new generation of new ideology may the picture will different. Many leaders left the party, that is opportunity to give space for new young leader, though at opening stage it gives slow result but it will give once again sixty years power to the congress party. Once more the need to create an ideological foundation that constructs the ideological structure of party. Let us take the example of Maharashtra; there were no well coordination of congress leaders. They lose grass root level support and faith of voluntaries. One core committee should be formed that will guide to new party leaders and voluntaries in each district. Opposition leader should be young and energetic having with blank slate and fresh face of common people. Nowadays there are only two issues are mostly discussed first corruption and second loan waivers but there is need of search to find new pathway of enriching quality life of people. Constructive and fruitful road map should have to build, “think tank” is necessary. Rather than giving leadership to only hierarchical way there is also need of “intellectual leadership.” Now party facing lack of intellectual leadership, civil servant and bureaucratic should be there with common face of people. Let us hope congress will rise with new hope and with new leaders. novel
