Communication - making it Effective!

By: satyasar | Posted Jul 12, 2011 | General | 269 Views

We live in a world where communication is required just like air and water.

Suppose there was a time when u had no one to talk to, a tendency of becoming mad arises!

Well today technology has made it so easy for us that we are okay to live with one kidney in a case but may not be able to survive with a cellphone. I was wondering in our earlier days if we were to wait for a friend and he was getting delayed it was really pathetic to wait for him/ her standing alone. Its now changed, you don't get bored as you get hooked on a conversation with your cellphone being in place.

Ever wondered how Effective communication would happen?

The above said terms were just at a glance how we need communication. lets get a bit deep into what it takes to make a communication more effective.

A few tips can help you make you strong enough to get a great success in what you talk

Its observed that many of us have a tendency to interrupt the person opposite to us while he/she talks.

All the quarrel or any thing where there is no syncronisation among 2 individuals is just because of a lack of another person not able to "HEAR" to the other person.

You have to observe something known as S I E R as it stands

S - Sense

I - Interpret

E - Evaluate

R - Respond

We all do a mistake where we just sense and then respond without doing the I & E

Thats more important to make a conversation successful.

For Ex if you are a team lead and a subordinate asks for a leave on a week day you first need to SENSE it, then Interpret that he is wanting Leave, later Evaluate - Why would he require a weekday leave..trying for a new job or for a genuine reason??

then Respond. by doing so you tend to make an effective communication,it would be not that fast in the initial periods but slowly and steadily you master the technique. Now you become more patient to hear what your opponent has to say then once he has exhausted it becomes your turn n by default he has to listen to you!

Use this formula where ever you want and see the difference in the life it gets in!

Wish you all the best.
