The launch of chandrayan has been successful. Now in a space of 15 days if everything goes well than India will join the select band of G 6 countries to send spacecrafts to the moon.

A perfect launch from Sriharikota, 44 metre tall, 346 tonnes PSLV had a copy book style take off. Despite heavy rain in around chennai coast the launch took off just as planned. Around Nov 8 the LAM ( Liquid apogee motor) will be fired.

Chandrayan will orbit the moon for 2 years, if the energy permits it will be more. There are 11 experimental payloads 5 from Indian 6 from European union including US.

Moon this time around take prime attention, apart from kadva chauth, due to the presence of HELIUM 3. It is reliably learnt from a friend of mine in ISRO a five kg Helium can light up entire Bangalore city for 3 years, which is exciting prospect. The Helium 3 deposits on the surface of the moon is 20 times more than the fossil fuel in the Earth. This makes it a huge commercial proposition. It calls for the special collaborative effort.

The scientists are ga ga over this super achievement. My friend called me @ 7 am itself conveying the good news. A project in the making for more than a decade. I am sure the satellite launch monitoring centre in Bangalore, don t ask me where exactly it is located. It is top secret and is an heavily guarded secret. The radar is continously circumbulating. I think I have posted the picture earlier on my photo upload.

India's Leap to the Moon is a historic mission. An expense of 400 crores is nothing compared to the future potential energy source from the moon. May be a cauldrom will be developed to suck Helium into earths atmosphere. It provides us an exciting opportunity to imagine an energy station in the space which will beam Helium 3 power supplies to the mother earth.

Congrats Santosh and his ISRO colleagues for this historic achievement. Some scientists are crazy guys as they say. Such eccentricity produces abudant electricity. Lol

PN : Future prospects of Honeymoon on the Moon will be a distinct possibility. Book your tickets now.
