Stores like Big Bazaar keep making billing mistakes and employ various tricks to maximize their sales. Check for the following:
They Give You Bills Which Can't Be Read or Checked Easily
You have to be patient to go through each items mentioned on the bills. Often item code numbers or shortcut names appear. So check carefully.
Where is My Discount?
You thought you just bought something on bargain. Check again! Their billing software may not have included that 50% discount in your bill. It would be only 20%. Worse still, it would not have added any discount at all. A little magaz-maariwith the counter guy and things are set right.
01 Plus 01 or 02 Free?
DO CHECK for their EXPIRY DATES particularly if such items are juices, drinks, other eatables or cosmetics / toiletries . They could be a lot nearer than you thought. In one case I noticed even expired dates items!
Gift & Other Free Items
Sometime there are MANUFACTURER given freebies with the items you purchased or BIG BAZAAR's own freebies under some kind of promotion scheme etc. Don't expect them to be given without your asking. And if these are given automatically, consider yourself lucky.
Quantity & ‘Billed’ Free Items
You could easily be ‘double charged’ for buying just 01 of some item because the counter guy scanned it wrongly or messed up manually or whatever. You thought something you ‘picked’ was supposed to be ‘free’. Check again. It may have been billed.
Electronics & Other Household Goods Are Not REALLY at BARGAIN Always
Many such items can almost always be bought at better prices / deals from outside authorized shops. There are issues with installation, delivery charges / labour charges etc.. Don't get tempted to buy just because something is selling at a great bargain. Better options might be available outside.
BIG BAZAAR like Stores Sell SOME ITEMS (that you may not really buy) at REALLY low prices. Like a particular make / model of Microwave etc. MOST PEOPLE THINK THAT EVERYTHING SELLING HERE IS BARGAIN. It may not be the case. As long as you want and buy that very make/ model item, it is OK.
Such could be end of life MODEL or a model only MADE for Big Bazaar. EXERCISE YOUR DISCRETION. CONSULT SOMEONE OUTSIDE. DON'T FALL PREY.
Misrepresentation of Facts
Sometimes out of ignorance or in their overzealousness to sell, sales persons provide wrong info like “it has 2 years warranty” (when in fact only 01 year) or “this item is latest” when it could be end of life product. Verify such claims rather than taking them on their face value.
