Bhangarh - So called Haunted Place

By: deepakbrits | Posted Mar 15, 2011 | General | 1045 Views | (Updated Mar 15, 2011 10:23 AM)

Hummmmmmmmmm... it all started with a motorbike journey from Delhi as early as 5 A.M. in the morning with me accompanied with my two friend. The first time ever we decided to ride on our motorbikes for such a long distance. Important moments of the journey are as under :

Distance from Delhi to Bhangarh is 265KMs and it took us almost 8hours to reach there. Road upto Shahpur on NH8 is very fine for initial 200 KMs but once you take a left turn to reach Bhangarh it is just an abandoned landscape and is really a bad road with lot of patholes. Bhangarh is just like a place one can imagine with crude village type atmosphere. Infact people told me that there is nothing like any paranormal activity in the fort. Once we reached there we couldn't find any dhaba to have lunch. On entering Bhangarh I realised how much fool I have been made by online comments. Bhangarh is nothing more than a ruined fort with some couples I saw dating too. A totally isolated place and nothing more than ruins. Infact the much awaited palace of prostitutes has just four boundary walls left behind now and nothing to say that it could have been a palace once. We were very disappointed to know that we couldn't stay there at night because guards there doesn't allow anyone to stay after 6PM. It's not because of any paranormal activity but because it is very close to Sariska national park and one can fell pray to wild cats. People there live very close to this fort and houses there have celings too.

Do's:

  1. Plan to start early in the morning as it becomes hot the moment you leave NH8 by afternoon if you are driving a motorbike.BE CAUTIOUS WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY FROM THE TRACTOR & JEEPS COMING ON FROM WRONG SIDE IN THE SAME LANE.

  2. Carry an extra tube for the tyres because this is a deserted place with a few shops that too at a distance of nearly 40 KMs apart.

  3. Carry enough water, fuel and foods according to your requirement because once you leave NH8 you won't find any dhaba to stop for.

  4. There is only one hotel nearby to Bhangarh and that too is very expensive. If you plan to stay there then book it in advance otherwise there is no place to stay there at night.

Don'ts:

  1. For those interested in paranormal activity, don't carry any vehicle there as you won't find any safe place to park it. Buses are rare but they do fary at an interval of two hours at least.

  2. There is nothing to stay there and one hotel there that is 10KMs before Bhangarh is very costly. Plan your journey accordingly. In my case we took the toughest road ever I have travelled to Jaipur and it took us 2 hours to reach city.

  3. I found the idea of going there in search of ghost as funny as one can watch aahat or shhhhhh koi hai on TV.
