I was watching the movie RAT RACE on Sony Pix few hours ago.The movie I was watching this movie for the first time but many scenes were familiar to me.I just cant remember which movie was similar to this until I saw the climax.Suddenly I realised this was the comedy hit movie DHAMAAL starring SANJAY DUTT,RITESH DESHMUKH,ARSHARD WARSI and JAVEED JAFFRI.
The movie RAT RACE stars ROWAN ATKINSON or commonly known as Mr. BEAN and CUBA GOODING Jr.Its about 12 people who races to a distant city for a price of 2 million dollars.The movie is funny and does not bore any one for a minute in 2 hour total play time.Rowan Atkinson was brilliant as usual every other actors did their job brilliantly.
In climax of the movie these people accidently reach a stage where charity fund raising is going on an they are forced to give away the money to charity.The only change between the two movie is that in RAT RACE people are on a race to acquire sponsored money but in DHAMAAL it changed to treasure hunt.
I was shocked to see that many scenes were directly copied from Rat race in Dhamaal.How could a director do that(excluding priyadarshan who is making hit films from great malayalam films)There was a scene in Dhamaal where Arshard warsi not willing to give the money and was finally convinced by his brother Javed.RAT RACE had this scene too. Its so embarassingto me that a movie which I considered super funny was a copy of another incerdibly funny movie.
Shame on me.
