it is a law of all social relationships
be it of blood
parents & their progenies
at some point in time
come to loggerheads
my child
before you decide to hate me
before you are forced to hate me
do look over at the cyber space
under the name - Manu Kant
duly join all the dots
& see a complete picture did I make
if you find
the cyber space too
blank with the message:
"this page doesn't exist"
or "has been removed..."
my child
then revert back to your days when
you were as chirpy as a bird
in your father's arms
in his embrace
did I make you happy
with words
did I ever say anything
of substance
that you can still to your mind bring back
if you find the past flown
just like the now extinct
animals & birds
my child
then try to re-call our visits
to Chandigarh's Museum of Natural History
you & I
so natural was it all
daughter's & father's 'monkey point'
where I tried my best
to breathe in you
dreams, happiness & joys
to show you the broad swathe of history
life through the ages
when the world was created
& imparted doubt over God's existence
what lies in future
in your life
ahead of you
if you find that the Natural History Museum
all the weekdays spent there
an illusion
& your father - an upstart
then ask yourself a question: "what then is the truth?"
my child
if you are still assailed with doubts
then enter the room where I kept the books
& the hope alive
that some day I will see in you a grown-up child
if you find the books gone
father's only comrades shot
their tongues slashed
by ill-doers hijacked
my child
then you hit the road
let us say for a year
travelling the length & breadth
of the Holy land
India
your home
& with the head lights on
stop a wayfarer
& put him under the scanner
& ask him a question:
"Did you ever come across a man...
by the name Manu Kant?"
did he dream about anybody's happiness
anybody's well-being
was he consistent in his ideology
that the God is all make believe
don't be disheartened
if the wayfarer turns his back
& disappears without saying a word to you
it is a journey you ought to complete
retrieve the entire history
for the 'feel good factor' is at stake
to unravel who was this mystery Manu
just rev up the engine
keep the head lights on
& keep travelling towards your home
towards the future
my parting words to you... will be:
in personal lives
in the lives of the mortals
the past is what is already dead & gone
Manu Kant was nothing
just a sound
put on the ear plugs
& shut my thoughts out
life is jazz
just, just find your happiness
in the arms of OTHERS
who are kind, loving & bearers of happiness
Manu Kant
