in India we believe that, 'Marriages are made in heaven". If at all it was made in heaven then why is this concept of arranged marriage or love marriage? Marriage according to me is decided by human beings, be it the whole family or just two individuals. In an arranged marriage the man and the women has no other choice but to accept the decision of the whole family.
They accept, thinking that their parents and relatives will only do well to them by choosing their life partner.
What they do not realize is that this chosen life partner might be good in the eyes of the family but when it comes to personal likes,desires and preferences, this choice might not meet the requisite. Many marry in spite of realizing that their partner is not the best choice hoping to change the person after marriage. Once married, life becomes hell as there is no understanding between the couple. Still they put up with one another for the sake of their families and culture bearing grudge and hatred towards one another.
Where as in love marriages the couple get to know each other better and they share good chemistry and understand each others feelings and needs. They know their own strengths and weaknesses as well their partners. So there is a greater success rate in these marriages standing the tough weather or any hurdles that might come their way.Whatever the type of marriage the children stand to get affected by the good or bad relationship their parents share.
In love marriages the kids grow in an atmosphere where they see their parents love and respect one another. So they imbibe the basic lesson in love and grow as great individuals. Whereas when parents always fight and find fault with one another the children are mentally affected by this and grow up depressed or frustrated in life. So the well being of the family rests in the hands of the wedded couples so it is important to decide how their martial life should be and who should make the decision regarding marriage.
After all it is you who has to live your whole life with the partner and of course head the family for your lifetime. So you know better and can find a better companion than others who will just look for financial and moral values more than real love and care. So love marriages are by far the best.
It is true that not all love marriages are a success. Though the percentage might be small still I feel that love marriages are better than arranged marriages.
