Some interesting facts.... In  the year 1848 a Prussian king had promised to make some unfulfilled reforms for women, this marked the beginning of woman's day.Subsequently lots of trade union activities started as women became increasingly aware of their rights. In 1910 a conference of around 100 women from 17 countries took place in copenhagen thus reviving the idea of women's day.  The first International Women's Day was officially celebrated on 19th of March 1911. There is another school of thought that  first Woman's day was observed on 28th  Feb 1909 in USA.

Demonstrations marking International Women's Day in  Russia was a part of the Russian revolution in 1917. Following the October Revolution, Lenin was forced to make it an official Holiday in Russia, but still continued to work until 1965. On 8th May 1965, by the decree of the USSR,  International Women's Day was declared as a non working day in  commemoration of outstanding merits of the Soviet women.

Today in some counties like Portugal, on 8th march, women only Parties  are celebrated.

Here's Wishing  all wonderful MS ladies a day that's every bit as special as you are.

A Very Happy Woman's Day to all of you.

Let's all take a Pledge to treat Women with respect & make them our equal partners of success.

cheers..............
