Friday evening, Khalid Bhai rang me up informing me about the Delhi-Meet to be held on Sunday, May 30th, 2010. I wanted my friend Rashpal to accompany me and expressed this wish to Khalid Bhai. Khalid Bhai promptly agreed to this. Saturday morning, I contacted a booking agent in Amritsar. It was a short notice and there were no seats available with air conditioner facilities. To this Khaild retorted that I have to make it there anyhow as he has arranged dhol-gana for me and not to forget bringing the Amritsari wadiyan for Pooja. Getting tickets even for non a.c. were still a hard work. 2.15 pm was expected arrival time at Delhi on Sunday afternoon. On meet day, I woke up at 4:30 am to catch train at 6:25 am. Meanwhile my mom prepared breakfast and also packed lunch. Rashpal was already there at the railway station, we boarded together. It was hot that kids were puking around us. Phone rang up at 1:40 pm, it was Khalid again, he was already there at New Delhi Azmeri gate. Train was late and we arrived there at 3:00 pm. Also, he has to pick Shubru on the way. He is an awesome driver, his nice car flung some water on the shiny surfaces of nicely suited group of 5 youngsters. But escaped, murmuring that it was a deserved bath for the summer hit. LOL. At 3:45 pm we were at the Nirulas, our meeting point.

Shalu, Pooja, Menon ji, Sooraj, Sana Bhabhi were there to give us a warm welcome. Soon Pooja was looking for wadiyan. The atmosphere was so cordial, though Alkranjan was gone being short of time. Kanika also could not make it due to Typhoid, poor girl. A round of pizzas and coke started. My vegetarian corn pizza was delicious and then the cake was cut. Shuburu captured our attention with his melodious voice with a range of three songs. While sana bhabhi was looking after, actually running after the kids. We were busy discussing various topics of Mouthshut. It was my first meet with Sooraj, he looked quite happy. Quite true to what I told to my friend Rashpal, his first meeting for him to everyone would be replaced by a feeling of old bonding. Time was flying, these three and half hour were well deserved after all the journey heat. Put a sign on sooraj”s scrap book, received a gift along with Sooraj, Rashpal, few group photos and took a leave at 6:15 pm with superdriver Khalid bhai. The train departed from Nizamudin at 7:15 pm, carrying us in the slumber of the sweet and everlasting memories of Delhi-meet. Not to forget our invitation to make Amritsar the next meet venue…

(During Meet Mazhar Bhai aur Fenil se phone par baat bhi hui thi, Sorry I missed that part in DP)
