Donkey and the Merchant

There was one naughty but a kind boy in one village. He liked animals so he loved them. One day while playing he came across an abandoned and injured baby donkey. He brought him home and applied medicines on its wounds. He over pampered the donkey so the donkey became lazy. They grew up together. The grown up boy was very enterprising. He opened a wholesale grocery shop. To gain more profit he did home to home delivery. He used the donkey for his home to home delivery. The merchant taught him to take loads of goods unaccompanied on his back. The donkey was now trained well and used to deliver the goods unaccompanied. One day the merchant kept loads of salt on his back and sent him unaccompanied. On the way, he became tired and was thirsty. To quench his thirst, he stopped by the river on the way. He stepped into the river and quenched his thirst. Suddenly he noticed that the weight on his back became very light. He felt joyous. Afterwards he realized that when he stepped into the river, the salt dissolved into the river. He returned to the shop joyfully. After seeing him drenched and the sacks empty, the merchant became furious. The merchant decided to teach the donkey a lesson. Next day, the merchant loaded some items on his back and sent him alone. The donkey had recalled what he had done the previous day. So he deliberately stepped into the river. But this time the weight on his back became more heavier. He was shocked. How had it become unbearably heavy today while the previous day it had become lighter? The merchant had loaded sand on his back to teach him a lesson! He couldn’t stand on his feet and fell down.
