Long ago in a small, remote away village called Timbuktu; there was a house, not a Hunted House, known as the House of 1000 Mirrors. A small, joyful little puppy called Creaser, heard of this place from his happy go lucky friends and decided to visit.
When he arrived, he bounced cheerfully up the staircase to the front door of the house. He curiously peeped through the doorway with his ears lifted high with excitement and with his tail wagging gleefully as fast as it could.
To his great surprise, he found himself staring at 1000 other happy little puppies with their tails wagging too, just as swift as his. He smiled a great smile to greet the happy puppies, and he was instantaneously answered back with 1000 grand beautiful smiles just as warm and friendly as his.
Soon as he left the house, he thought to himself, "This is a wonderful place filled with happiness. I shall come back and visit it frequently as I can."
In this same village, one more little doggie called Jeet, who was not quite as contented as the first one puppy, he too decided to visit the same house as he too heard a lot about it. He slowly climbed the staircase and hung his head low with wretchedness as he peeped through the door.
When he saw the 1000 unfriendlylooking dogs staring back at him, he growled grrrrhhh at them and was aghast to see 1000 little dogs growling back at him just as he did.
Immediately he left and he thought to himself, "That is a horrifyingplace, filled with unfriendly dogs, and I shall never ever go back there again."
The truth is our lives are in fact a mirror image of our thoughts, beliefs and actions. We don't see the world as it is, we do see the world as we are, rather depends on our state of mind.
In the modern world we live, everything is like Newton's Law of Motion -- To every action there is always an equal and opposite reaction. Laugh, and the world laughs with you;. Weep, and you weep alone. The knowledge embedded in this Japanese folktale - Zen like story is philosophical. Yet, it is not easy to grasp how to make use of it in our daily lives. It is one thing to be familiar with the wisdom and quite another to constructively apply it to our daily lives. You are not likely to feel bad when you are smiling. So we do carry ourselves wherever we go! The preference can only be made by you, so choose intelligently.
Many a times we do come across all kinds of the faces in this world, which are just like mirrors. What kind of reflections do we see in the faces of the other people, we meet? Still Pondering, Just have a Look in the mirror!!!
So start your day with a smile, may be it will encourage the others you meet to smile too! As you sow so shall you reap!!!
