Hi Amita, I am not in touch with recent times. Your best bet will be to go to www.moneycontrol.com and they have provision to compare funds. Ideally select the one that has consistently been in Top 5 equity diversified funds, over a period of 1 month, 6 months and 1 year (& also 3 years.. though ...it is unlikely that a fund would have outperformed all this while). Although I agree that Tata Sky is great, one of the biggest problems I have faced is that because it connects to the AV socket & not the cable / TV socket, many features of of television are rendered useless. THe biggest one is that I can't use the PIP function that the TV provides, as all channel c...ontrol is through Tata Sky.Read More

This credit card comes from probably the most net-savvy of banks. ICICI bank is a certainly a boon for people like me who thrive on the internet. No wonder, ICICI bank recently won the most preferred credit card award. Infact, the bank has been a pioneer of sorts on various fronts - online inter...Read more

1. There is no such restriction. You can sell your units any time you please. Infact, the later you sell the better. Because if you sell them within 1 year/6 months (depends on your scheme) you are charged an exit load. 2. The percentage rate of growth for the dividend and growth plans are the sa...me. When the dividend is declared, the unit price of the dividend plan falls, while the growth plan keeps going, therefore the disparity in prices. The rise looks higher in growth plan only because of a higher base. Dividend option is the preferred one, because it gives you an opportunity to circumvent the short term capital gains tax if you choose to sell your units within an year.Read More

HDFC equity fund, HDFC Capital Builder and HDFC Top 200 funds are more renowned & recommended ones. You can compare the returns with other fundhouses on moneycontrol.com. I am not an MF expert, but I can only advise you not to put a lumpsum amount in any of these funds rather opt for a systemat...ic investment plan, with the market at historic high levels.Read More

I recently purchased an 29'' Onida KY theatre, and I would advise those seriously desirous of a ''home-theatre'' to reject this product. The Onida site boasts of deriving 5.1 output from normal TV input. All that is nonsense !!! The speakers just boost the same audio, there's no 5.1 effect. The ...Read more

I chose transacting through this site mainly because it was free, and also because of the reliability of the Times brand. My first impression about TimesofMoney is that they have got be a little more efficient. A cut-off time of 12pm for mutual fund transactions is unacceptable, when the actual ...Read more
