I am not from Karnataka, but I have been a Bangalorean for 14 years now - nearly 15 actually. And, frankly, like a lot of my fellow Bangaloreans I am as concerned about the problems the city faces - and a lot of us are more aware of them than the writer herself is. But the least of these worries,... for most of us, is Kannada. It happens to be the official language of the state, is one of the several official languages of the country and is as extensively spoken as..... German in Germany or Japanese in Japan!! The comment from the writer displays boorishness and a sense of cultural bias of the most appalling nature. It also suggests a willingness to place sensation over reasoned analysis. Finally, I have this suggestion for the writer who thinks not speaking English is a disqualification: using the word 'loose' (in your review) for 'lose' has a significant bearing on the meaning of the sentence.Read More

To Deepak and Raj: Thanks for your comments. You are right when you say that the choice of berths is subject to availability, and I do not for a moment deny that. But I am talking of cases where berths are allocated even at the beginning of the booking cycle. My only grouse is that when my... berth choices are not available, a totally random allocation of berths locks me in to a transaction I may have otherwise avoided, if I had known that the berths would not meet my need. Nor is this an unreasonable request, because such a feature was available on IRCTC in the past. RaviRead More

The fact that I get to pay by credit card, the fact that the tickets come home, the fact that I do no...Read more

I have been a rather happy BSNL DataOne condition almost from the time they launched it. The only time I really had a problem was when we shifted home. BSNL took way too long to shift our phone, and that meant I was without a broadband connection for as long as it took them to shift the conne...Read more

My woes with Tata Indicom consist of two phases, and I am almost certain it is not over yet. First, there was the broadband connection. It was activated about two months after I applied for it. During this period I called everyone in Tata Indicom, wrote emails ranging from desperate to sarcas...Read more
