Everyone who is a student in Bombay, knows about Candies or has been there. We(myself and my group of friends) went there yesterday to celebrate a friend's 21st. The first thing that strikes you about the place is the ambiance. It is apt for people who want sit outside, in the Bombay sun and ...Read more

@candyfloss: I loved the accent. Though it was wannabe french in a weird way.

That is a great point that you made about having a female judge on the show. There are many housewives on the show. They should have had someone like tarla Dalal whom these women could relate to as I am sure they have used her recipes.

@Foodie99: I agree about that bit on constructive criticism. They hardly ever give any comments how something can be bettered. But improving the episodes now or revising editing after 2 weeks into the show is a tad bit too late. Knowing the short-span of memory of the public (I didn't watch the show... last Sunday) the interest is piqued only in the initial few episodes. If I might daresay for a couch surfer only a few minutes. If the showing is doing better then nothing like it. Cos there can never be a dearth of food programs on TV :DRead More

@Foodie99: I hadn't even heard of the other two judges before the show was aired. I know I shouldn't base my opinion on the relative fame of these guys but Akshay overpowers any of their professional judgements. I haven't seen Wilbury Junior yet. I do plan to catch some episodes on youtube. As for ...other participants giving the Indian a run for their money, I think it is slightly unfair, because as far as exposure to other cuisines is concerned we Indians have been restricted. It is only now that many international cuisine restaurants have opened up in cities. I think a better way to judge the creativity of the participants would be to give them somehting like a mystery box challenge or give them a region of India as the theme. I think it is more important to know the cuisines of your country than of the world.Read More

@meghana: Thanks. Indeed there is no comparison with Wilbury Australia. The camera movements give u nausea. Maybe, someday we can hope for more reality shows without the said camera movements.

I am sure anyone who watches television in India or even reads the news paper is aware that Akshay Kumar is going to host a reality show featuring amateur chefs. The publicity for this show was more than that of some movies. The USP of the show is obvious - Khiladi Akshay Kumar. I was very ha...Read more
