Birla Sunlife collected from me  Rs.1 lakh in 2010 and again Rs.1 lakh in 2011 and returned Rs.114000 (one lakh fourteen thousand only) in August 2013. They took 1 year to return my money after I became wise and canceled the policy. That is the unmatched returns from BSLI. Take my word, BSLI ...Read more

This guy must be from the BIRLA stable. Please do not fall for this. Do not even read anything saying anything positive about Birla Sunlife. I learnt it at the cost of 1.5 lakhs of my hard earned money in just 3 years.

Shalu11 must be an employee or agent of BSLI. I have personally heard this kind of spin from officers in the Indiranagar branch of bangalore. The fact is they have no shame because they are all partners in this loot of gullible public with some hard earned cash. Do not let any BSLI or any othe...r ULIP guy even talk to you. How can Birla Sunlife be stopped from doing this cheating in the name of business? There are so many complaints from so many innocent victims of this company and is there no one to take cognizance of this? The Ombudsman in my case washed his hands off despite a complaint of signature forgery with... the connivance of BSLI officials. I lost about Rs.1.5 lakhs in 3 years. And I have to wait for one more year before I get what they will return back after all fraudulent deductions.f It looks like that the entire company and the staff are shameless that they can knowingly participate in this deliberate cheating enterprise without fear of action from any authorities.Read More

Keep up this campaign till these suckers go out of business. It is really heart rending that honest people are falling prey to these pack of wolves ravenously pursuing others hard earned, tax paid money and are not answerable to anyone. For everyone's information, I filed a complaint with BSLI on... Aug 18th and with the Hyderabad Ombudsman on Sep 21st and I have not heard from either.Read More

There used to be a time when investment consultants used to make their commissions without having to dupe investors. My 'Advisor', Mr.Sukumaran Sreedharan Nair of Kammanahalli Branch, BSLI Bangalore, (a crook and an amateur in signature forgery) with full knowledge duped me in to buying a BSLI plan ...and had managed to get two installments out of of Rs.100000/- each without me becoming suspicious. When he did not turn up to collect the 3rd this August, I became suspicious and looked up my policy document: That is when I realised that the pre load charges were 10% of premium and there were myriad other charges under various heads amounting to another Rs.10000/-. I then realised that the moment I handed over my cheque to the above mentioned crookug 2010, I had lost Rs.20000/- of my money. The same thing happened the next year. And when I examined the policy document carefully, I realised that the IRDA prescribed mandatory table of returns in page#30 was not only not shown to me at all, but my signature on that was forged and not mine at all. If that table had been shown to me Mr.Nair had no chance in hell of enrolling me in their fraudulent scheme. I have now surrendered the policy and I am told I will get rs.1,14,000/- in Sep 2013. I have paid Rs.2,00,000/- so far. The loss is at least Rs.1,50,000/- I will be filing a complaint with the ombudsman pretty soon if I do not see any action from BSLI on my complaint filed 2 weeks back. We talk about ethics in business, but I see little evidence of that in India. A few months ago I was sold a similar policy by a Bajaj agent, but fortunately I got out of it within the 15 day period because in that case I read the document as soon as I received it and realised what I was made to believe was not what was in the document Moral is Beware of all Insurance Solicitations Dr.RavichandranRead More

Dear Prashushetty You can of course surrender the policy anytime, but at heavy loss. The decision you have to make is to close all relationship with BSLI with immediate effect and absorb the current loss or continue the relationship paying more premiums and suffer more loss. This was the decis...ion I took recently with my Platinum Premium (or some such BS name) on which my annual premium was Rs.100000/-. I had paid 2 instalments and got suspicious only recently at the point of paying the 3rd. Cutting the story short, I spoke to 4 different people in their Bangalore , Indiranagar office and each gave a different take on the policy as well as what I could expect at the end of 5 years. Upshot is even within BSLI no one knows anything for sure but what binds them together is their commitment to convince the customer somehow to part with his cheque. So they are capable of telling any story and assure of any returns. I then literally threw the policy at their face and asked them to give me the surrender receipt. I had the satisfaction of the security guard (who perhaps appreciates the value of hard earned money better than the white collar cheats who work there) sincerely commiserating with my plight. he also confirmed that I was not the first nor would I be the last to report such misery. Hope this helps in someway. Dr.RavichandranRead More

Mr.Prashanth I fully commiserate with you and confirm your experience with what I have also personally gone through. I have filed a complaint with their grievances cell 2 weeks back and am yet to hear from them. I am however not too hopeful about getting a response. I will be filing the same comp...laint with IRDA Ombudsman once 15 days have elapsed without reply from BSLI. I would advise you to do the same. Without doubt BSLI is a fraudulent company which has been willfully cheating the public for many years now as the complaints here dating from at least 2007 and almost all of them with identical experience testify. I enrolled in the name of my wife in 2010 and my blunder was that I did not check for customer feedback then. I have now surrendered the policy and I have paid a price of at least Rs.1,50,000/- SUch companies and their employees have no shame, but I am also at a loss to understand why IRDA does not initiate suo motu action on the basis of such genuine complaints and give wide publicity to penal actions. Guess this is how India works! Dr.RavichandranRead More

I enrolled on birlasunlife on the platinum guaranteed plan in 2010 under the impression I was opting for a mutual fund with insurance benefits as add on. I made the mistake of not reading the policy carefully after receiving the document. If I had done that I would have surely returned the same with...in the 15 days grace period. I was basically cheated by one mr.subhash Nair who made me believe if I pay a premium of 1 lakh for 3 years, I could exit after 5 years with at least about 4.5 lakhs or more. Now looking at the policy document more carefully I find a table of payback on pages 29-30 that clearly shows that this is scheme to cheat people of their hard earned money in the short term. For example if I stop paying my premium after 2 years, I would have paid them 2 lakhs and they will pay back a surrender value of about 1.5 lakhs and that too at the end of the 3rd year. I was told on the toll free line that perhaps my policy advisor mr.subhash may have indeed cheated me my making misleading promises. Now I find that my mail to their client services mail I'd has bounced because their inbox is full. And their grievances link dimly does not work as the text boxes do not respond to text inputs. I got my doubt about birlasunlife recently because I had a similar con job done by a bajaj alliance sales guy. In this case I got out in the 15 days time because I read the document after I received it carefully and found what I had been told was very different from what was being committed and demanded in the document. These insurance sales guys are terrible. Keep away from themRead More
