Dear Rajesh Alias Joby, ccavenue does have a 3% charges scheme which is cheaper than PayPal/techprocess and ur timesOfMoney's direcpay. They also special aggresive pricing for merchants who have good turnover volumes. I am sure MakeMyTrip.com, SOTC, TajHotels will not be paying them their displayed ...rates. Nice review. You are right, we Indians are expressive only when we are negative. Very stingy in saying positive things!

Hey thirdreich....u have got it all wrong bro. A chargeback is a reversal of a payment card transaction initiated by the consumer who holds the card This can happen when a consumer discovers fraudulent or improper transactions on their card statement or online account view i.e. someone else has misu...esed his card. A ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chargeback ). In cases of credit card fraud, the merchant loses the goods or services sold, the payment, the fees for processing the payment, any currency conversion commissions, and the chargeback processing fee. Since, I am using ccavenue, I know for a fact that they dont charge any chargeback processing fee nor any currency conversion commissions. They do good risk management for free which no other service provider in india provides. Thay have a good flagging systems. The chargebacks are global phenomenon in the online world and the merchant has to be mentally prepared for such risk when doing business online. Its no use blaming ccAvenue or any other intermediaries. They dont own master / visa or have formulated these online chargeback rules. They are not going take 100% liability. Master / visa says that its the end merchant who has to bear the liability. I dont know how you can say that ' About 10% is the cost that CCA will levi on the merchant in case of chargeback. '...where do you get that Mr. Hitler?Read More

Hey bipingaur, i am no ccavenue agent. I am a hotel owner in dahanu and my website is hotelsapphire.net . My name is Merwan Irani and you can contact me on phone if you want to. My wife and her friends run a flower gifting site and uses ccavenue and are very happy with it. Many merchants have los...t lots of money because of chargebacks done by fraudsters. KingFisher has lost crores because of chargeback fraud through ICICI Bank. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.co m/articleshow/869992.cms The Kingfisher airline complained to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the city crime branch of an online ticket booking fraud through credit cards and stated that they were duped to the tune of Rs 17 crores. The EOW suspect a nationwide racket using this modus operandi. Kingfisher uses ICICI Bank Payment gateway. The real issue is that the credit card in its present format was never meant to be used on the internet. It just that the dot com boom just hit the world from 1999 onwards and boy, it did take off. I think the root of this problem is MasterCard / Visa who has not done anything worthwhile to stop fraud. They thrust the chargeback liability on the end merchants and give them no protection. Looks like all gateways are the same as far as chargeback is concerned. We cant blame providers like ICICI or CCAVENUE because I dont think they are going to take the 100% chargeback hit when they earn only a very small poertion of 1% or 2% of the transaction amount. Lets join hands and sue these card companies. Rgds, Merwan.Read More

This news item is worth reading. http://www.reviewcentre.com/review243312 .html Review of Big Shoe Bazaar By bibu on 19th May 2007 General Comments I have ordered shoes from the Big Shoe Bazaar, and I have waited for 2 weeks. In this two weeks I have contacted them 3 times via email, and I was promised deliv...ery in 2 days every time. In their chat server, almost all the time, no one would be available. Finally, after 2 weeks they were not sure if the shoes I ordered were in stock, and they asked me to wait for 2 - 3 days more. I asked for the refund, but it takes then 15 days. Read More

We just got our mastercard reactivated through ccavenUe. U have to follow a certain procedure which is mentioned on this url http://www.ccavenue.com/newsletter/mastercard/mastercard_service.htm I am quite ok with their services and have always received my money on time for past 9 months. I have h...ad horrible experiences with transactindia and paysignet, therefore can say confidently that they are quite good and have not given me any reason to complain. their pg is quite fast except the federal bank net banking option which one of my customers faced some errors while transaction. Apart from that, there has been no isses. I get about 7 to 8 orders everyday at an average.Read More

try Paypal....or citibank india if you want accept visa, mastercard, diners and citi bank netbanking. ccavVenue gives the max options and decent services. Icici gives you visa and mastercard but their fraud ratio is more than 25%. Kingfisher airlines lost 17 crores in chargebacks in 1 year. Ditto fo...r all other airlines and major travel sites but they have swept in under the carpet. My advice when you start your online business, take care of 4 things 1) Give good products and services and after sales support so that customers dont dispute, so you dont receive chargeback. 2) choose a PG which gives max payment options for your customers 3) Choose a PG who provides good risk management and 4) learn how to attract customers through SEO and PPC....CHEERS!Read More

All this glorifying comments are the handicraft of that Big Shoe Bazaar owner mr. ahmed (MouthShut_ID_BigShoeFan) himself. I am sure he must be looting hundreds of customers everyday. I read on this site somewhere that he has fought with his Payment Gateway service provider also. He must be sendi...ng all cheap wrong shoes and then his customers must be disputing it with their banks and his Payment Gateway. He himself claims that Rs. 40,000 ($1,000) worth of orders has been disputed by his customers and then what does Mr. Ahmed do? Instead of correcting himself and his folies and pacify his customers, he instead goes all out and discredit his payment gateway and ask them as to how they have cheated him and allowed his customers to get their money back. Real smart crook this guy is. Avoid this cheat. I really sympathize with Bimsha and others, who have been defrauded by this www.BIGSHOEBAZAAR.COM site.Read More

Chargeback is a dispute between merchant and customer. You cannot blame payment gateway, etc for your stupid mistakes.
