Everybody - thanks for your advice! I'll do some more number crunching and extrapolation at my end and decide on my future investment in this policy. I'll try to post these numbers and my analysis here if I get a chance.

I checked the BSI website (earlier, and then today as well), and I see something by the name of 'Premium allocation charge'. The details follow: From their website: 'The premium allocation charge is an up-front charge and varies as per the premium payment term and the policy year as given below:'... Policy Year Pay Period (#Yrs) 10-14 15+ 1 54.6% 65% 2 7.5% 7.5% 3 7.5% 7.5% 4+ 5% 5% So, since my policy is a 15 year payment policy, the 65% charges on the 2,00,000 amounted up to 1,30,000. Thanks for taking the time to reply. You mentioned that the administrative charges etc (differences) on your policy aren't quite as huge as mine, I'm really curious to know more about the options you selected. Do you mind sharing some details about your policy?
