hi thanks for your time i think i wrote too many things and it all sounds very confusing . the camera fell into water is pure bad luck and that is purely my fault . however in such cases time is the essence, for if it were to dry up on its own then there is irreparable damage in the form of f...ungus ....... it is in this area that i have serious misgivings with the Nikon service people ...... they have sat on it till 8 days doing nothing , they should have immediately opened and dried it ...... now as they realised their folly they want to send it back to me without doing anything after ten days . that I cannot digest. regards kamal narayanan Read More

The best place to buy any expensive Nikon product is definitely the grey market. For starters it comes at half the cost. Hi prof. thanks for your time ..... The camera fell in water is sure bad luck ..... I can deal with that . What I cant digest is that these people did nothing to clean and dry the camera for 8 full days thereby letting it dry on its own and hence the fungus formation .... And now after realizin...g their folly they are trying to send it back to me saying I am not letting them work on it ...... I only stopped them from inserting a battery into the wet camera ..... They can dry it first and then do the battery check . I now find out that they don’t have the capability to completely dismantle the camera ...... After they let it dry on its own ..... Ruining it completely ..... So this new topic of returning it ..... I think I’ll sue them for this mess ...... Actually what they do (fan dry) is useless ..... Problems will appear in time . I could have cleaned this myself .... I sent it to these people without reading the warranty ...... Had I read it properly I surely would have cleaned it myself Their warranties a as good as toilet paper . Regards kamalRead More

hi prof. thanks for your time but sometimes s..t happens, I certainly did not want to dip my camera in water ,,, however I slipped . their experts didn’t inspire any confidence in me when 1) they try to put a battery in a wet camera and start it (you see there is no warranty for this condit...ion so I will end up spending more ) 2) they say they can't totally dismantle the lens assembly but only fan dry it after first cover opening (a total lie) ,,,,, guarantied to form fungus on the lens if it were to dry on its own ..... which is happening with their amazing response time ..... more than one week . 3) as this isn’t under warranty I would have wanted it back as I can do what they are doing . so why pay for it ..... its more likely they might do more damage deliberately to jack up the bill . 4) cant see why else they are doing these kind of things -idiotics- if I may say so . they don’t pay for it I do 5) fungus if formed once .... because of the deliberate delay will force me to replace the 18 - 105 mm lens assembly regards kamal Read More
