So you think that if someone is dark skinned then they are ugly? God! I think Indians are the only dark skinned race that openly discriminates against fellow dark skinned people. I know I'm generalising as well and that there are a lot of Indians who don't think that the colour of a persons skin det...ermines how beautiful or ugly they are. I can't believe you've written such a vile & hate filled review for no reason. You should really be banned from Mouth Shut.Read More

Thanks Ravi & Sanjeev. I was trying to get a line break using , but I guess Mouth Shut doesn't allow that. As for the movie - good choice Ravi. It's money well saved.

Mr. Mad bashes up people for the slightest breach. Saves a man from drowning & then beats im up severely for swimming in a prohibited area. Like LOC, I went in to watch Khakee with very very few expectations. Unlike LOC however I was very very pleasantly surprised with Khakee. Khakee tells the story of our nations cops with a reality that touches me. It didn't portray all the cops as evil corrupt men of the law and it didn't portray...Read more

Intense, Not only did your review make me hungry - it also made me homesick! I've had all kinds of Indian food, both in the US & in UK, that are just as good as the fare we get back home, but I have NEVER eaten Paav bhaaji abroad or even in other parts of India, like the paav bhaaji in Bombay. O...n my recent trip back home, I was scared of falling sick if I ate outside (I had a very very bad experience on the visit before this one, where in the throes of pain I was delirious enough to promise myself NEVER to eat street food again. Can you imagine? Come to Bombay and not eat street food? What's the point of coming to Bombay then?!!) But paav bhaaji was so tempting that I swallowed a couple of Digene & dug in. Ah! Sweet Bliss! And I didn't fall sick! :)Read More

Thanks for your feedback. Yes, if he had cut out all the mushy scenes between the soldiers & their loved ones the movie would have been more bearable & so would my headache! :) I also wish that he had depicted more of the strategy that was used to win the war. Instead he wasted footage on v...iolence, which I know is what war is all about when it comes down to it. But strategy is also critical. I also wish he had explained the significane of the points that were being fought for. For ex. shown a map and pointed out what was happening and where it was happening. IT would have made the story far more interesting. Last but certainly not the least he was too chicken to make a film that would not cater to the masses & so he made this movie for as far as I can tell - purely commercial reasons. I think somewhere down the line he lost track of the real reason that this film was being made - The Kargil Heros & he dedicated it to the Bolllywood Heros!Read More

I really loved the way you wrote your review, althoug h I don't agree with you on the point that J.P. Dutta has depicted the truth without taking liberties. There are liberties galore & the main one that I can point out is that the 2 Yadavs didn't know each other in real life. Another point that... I disagree with you on is that I felt no emotions of grief when the soldiers were depicted dying. As nasty as this sounds, it's not because I don't care for them or don't love my country. It's simply because the movie just didn't feel real or evoke any sentiments except boredom from me. I am looking forward to Lakshya which should hopefully be a more realistic movie. Cheers! Thanks for your comments! The thing that most annoyed me was that J.P. Dutta had such a wonderful theme in hand and he claimed to have researched it, but didn't do any justice to it. If God Forbid Vikram Batra or Anuj Nayyar or any of the other heros of Kargil were related to me, I'd sue him for mal...igning their memory.Read More

How do I know that the 2 Yadavs didn't know each other? Please do some reading: http://www.rediff.com/ republic/2000/jan/ 27param.htm Just because J.P. Dutta shot some male-bonding scenes between them doesn't mean it really happened. Fact is stranger than fiction for you maybe! Mr. Amjad Maruf, Yes I went to the theater expecting a really bad movie - & that's exactly what I got. I also went to see Kal Ho Na Ho with the same attitude, because FYI - I HATE SRK. I think he's the most overrated actor in Indian history. But I was surprised to find that KHNH was a decent... entertainer DESPITE SRK & despite some stuff that I didn't like. But I still came away pleasantly surprised. As for K3G, KKHH, DDLJ and all those other SRK hits - I do not like those movies. Contrary to your statement I am an NRI who doesn't appreciate these stupid depictions of Indian traditions just as much as I didn't appreciate the murder of history in LOC. If you say you respect my choice then do not get personal and say things like 'People like ME deserve trash movies'. Who the hell are you to make judgements about what I deserve and don't? Read More

I have formatted the review into a more readable way. I'm kinda new to this, so excuse my poor formatting. suyog, I guess the scene with monica & neo, would be more popular with the men folk amongst us! disskonnekt, yes it's always hard to follow a super-duper hit movie with a sequel, and... add to that a trilogy, the task seems unsurmountable. It just upset me to have waited four years for ... this! But maybe it's the anticipation which made the movie less likable. M1 gave the viewers no expectations and that was one of it's biggest advantages! Thanks for your comments kalil.rahman & shaun! Read More
