How did you buy this bike in PAKISTAN ?

Thank you for a very honest review. I don't agree with the resale value of KTM. Most used KTMs in Bangalore are above 1 L. R15s are plenty and CBR250s are very notorious for their poor resale value. But with no offence to anyone, you meet nice people on CBRs whereas R15s and KTMs are ridden a lo...t by punks and kids with lots of money.Read More

I test rode this bike and the CBR250 one after another. In crowded conditions, the CBR250 is heavier to handle, more difficult to manoeuvre, and at low rpms (less than 4000), gives out vibrations. The CBR150 is lighter, easier to turn (small wheelbase, even smaller than Unicorn) and its engine is ve...ry refined like the Unicorn's at all RPMs. There is very little power at less than 4000 rpm. The one word that came to my mind after riding the CBR150 was: FUN. I enjoyed myself more on this than on the R15 or the CBR250. Didn't ride the Duke. Its pricing is a real downer. It is hard to justify its pricing. And in the used market there are not enough numbers. So it is ever harder as there are plenty of R15s, Dukes and CBR250s to compete at the used bike's price.Read More

Every review site gives a comparison with R15. Please say something new.

how would you rate vis-a-vis the CBR250? Somehow after taking back-to-back test rides, I liked the CBR150 better.

Why don't you join XBHP and exchange your bike with someone else for some time. Glenn, above, has given good suggestions. Unicorn is good bike, there is a strong demand for this bike, next to Splendor.

ScorpionJ Which bike is most practical of all: buy the Karizma ZMR. Your wife/ mom can ride with you, you can travel long distances.

If you are in Bangalore, I can suggest a couple of decent mechanics.

Good review Sajal. Did you consider the RTR? I found the RTR's brakes better then the 200NS's.

Good review. Can you explain why you didn't like the other bikes: Unicorn, Hunk and Pulsar?

Since you say good things about the GS150, can you tell us why you didn't buy it?

Kunal, You may write to Honda complining about the quality and the service centre. Give it a try. Honda usually makes bikes of good quality, though not as good as Yamaha.

The Unicorn at 146Kgs is one of the heavier bikes. I can't comment on the Pulsars having never owned them. Only the GS150 is heavier by 2 Kgs among 150cc bikes. Pick up , braking : You bought the wrong bike if you were expecting pickup and braking from this bike. The bike is too heavy for the eng...ine to pull rapidly and the brakes to stop its momentum. I owned a Twister, and while it had smaller 110mm drums at the rear vs the 130mm drums of the Unicorn, and the same discs, due to the Twister's 108 Kgs, the brakes performed better. Ride quality: The Monoshocks won't give you plush ride quality. The GS150 does that. The Unicorn sells primarily due to its engine refinement, reliability, low maintenance costs and resale value. Between 40 and 60 the engine is very quiet. Though it was originally launched to take on the Pulsars, it is an 'uncle' bike really. I look forward to riding this bike every single time. The big letdowns are times when you really need the pickup. Since you sell your bikes frequently, you will get a good deal for the Uni.Read More

Pls comment on the following: a. Air-locks: people report that the Karishma's engine seizes randomly while on the road. The solution is to open the tank lid. b. Brakes: The brakes have been described as just about adequate. c. Spares cost: Too early to tell. d. Fairing rattle Overall it woul...d be good to know how the brakes perform, fairing rattles on high speeds of 80+ which most Karishma users expect to touch. Best of luckRead More

Arjun I have reading your posts on XBHP too. I do not have this problem. Honda engines are notorious when cold-started. I do the following: turn on choke start bike using electric start put on cooling glass, helmet, tank bag. Al this takes 1 minute. I ride with the choke for 2 KMs. Then... close choke. Ride for 3-4 KMs slowly at 40Kmph. The engine becomes responsive after total of 6 Kms. It varies from day to day, sometimes it becomes responsive after 4 KMs total. BTW, this was common to the FZ16 I owned earlier, though the Yamaha did not need to be coddled for 6 KMs the way the Uni needs to. Yamahas bikes in our country are better designed. Seeing that you are not happy with the earlier 220, have you considered a EFI bike? The R15 is well designed.Read More

Good review. I bought a Unicorn over a GS150 and kind of regret my choice. The Unicorn's ride quality is stiff. The Suzuki has plush shocks that give make it easy to glide over bad roads. This can make an important difference if riding comfort is important to you. However, Suzuki's two-tone colo...ur choices are hideous. The older color scheme was better.Read More

Suzuki bikes have poor resale value. The Zeus and Heat models are on sale no more. So I am tepid about Hayate. It is true that Honda bikes sell at a premium, have a waiting period and have dealers with poor attitudes. SS125 is a good choice. Also look at Pulsar 135 / Discover 125/135 if you are o...pen to a desi bike.Read More
