Thanks Jai and Mandar, for your valuable comments and feedback!! I guess i just have to wait for a few more years and get my hands on a really powerful engine either from TATAs or any other company. I have tried several vehicles with altered engine. Though these engines work well on a short run, the...y are always not as reliable as the original engine. The 1998 Version of the TATA 483 DL TURBO (DIESEL) engine is a very good engine in itself and offers a similar output as compared to 2.0 l or 2.4l Isuzu engine, although the Gearbox which came with these engine are known for its rattling sound at lower speeds (Specially, in the first gear). Nevertheless, the Engine – Gearbox combo is good, though I sometimes feel the there is a 6th forward SPEED gear missing on highways. Moreover, I have seen several vehicle being fitted with these isuzu engines, which make a lot of noise and vibrate but never move fast.
Like you guys have suggested, Its best that I wait for a better engine which could boost the overall performance of the vehicle (if not economy at least power and SPEED).
