Why the hype?
Eldest - Christopher Paolini

I agree with chris.gardner. This book is exceptionally well written with the plot chosen as was needed at the correct time. Even the author was young at the time he wrote the series, the language is very well written with many passages sowing the author is a genius with the English Vocabulary.
