Its free. You just have to fill up a Change of OwnerShip form online on Dell.com

No, I did not take any additional warranty. It is just the usual 1 year onsite warranty which comes with Inspiron 1420. After I got its ownership transferred to India I can avail the warranty period here also if the need be.

I'd must point out that the laptop within the price range offers the best configuration available in the market. If looks are a priority to you, then Inspiron 1420 is not your cup of tea. Dell XPS 1300 or 1500 is for you. Inspiron 1420 hopes to appeal anyone on a reasonable budget with good perform...ance, looks are not its priority. On the durability front, i beg to differ.
