Hi Sree, thanks for the review, and its a bit surprising to see the fuel efficiency figures of 15-17kmpl. I too am from Mysore, but at what avg speeds due you see a FE of 15kmpl....could that be avg 70kmph? or say 2.5 hrs Bangalore-to-Mysore? and how were you able to achieve 17kmpl!!! interesting to... know on these...further surprise is the 205000kms of mileage (total travelled distance), without any problem!!Read More

Dear Jayceebee, Its surprising to see your comment of Fuel Efficiency as 11kmph!!!!! instead of 11kmpl, and that too you being a senior officer at TATA motors. there are few things that only users can mention, which cannot be seen in a vehicle data sheet, and those things are what readers would gene...rally look at, rather than something we often find in maufacturer supplied info. Please share your experience with regard to the suspension quality, the acceleration (probably you would have used some other cars before using this), and the fuel efficiency in different conditions of driving....we look forward for that, Thanks, ShashiRead More

The good thing about the Palio is the build quality, ride quality, spaciousness and looks ok. The bad things are the dated engine (STILL 8 VALVE), because of 8valves/4cylinder, the FE goes down, and there is lot of noise inside the cabin cause of lesser plastic insulation on the roofs and on the sid...es. The dash board is too badly fixed and emanates a lot of noise. Otherwise the car is rock solid, seats 5 comfortably, low on maintenance (except in case of accidents the part costs are relatively higher as compared to maruti). We can be confident of driving close to 100. FE is around 11 in city (most of the times in Bangalore traffic) and on the highways with a very careful driving of around 60-70kmph some can even get 20kmpl. I have most of the time got around 15.5-17kmpl at speeds between 70-80kmph, with great patience 18kmpl. 18kmpl on highways in normal driving of 80kmph is not possible.Read More

Just dont be scribbling here. Only put something which you find out of your experience of owning and driving a vehicle

Definitely Toyota worldwide is a success cause of their quality product. This Innova is not as you think a International product. Its only there in India and Phillipines. It can never be accepted outside India, cause people outside India give importance to real facts and not the brand. Also, Toyota ...worldwide has priced their cars better as a budget range of cars (which is sole reason why Toyota cars have clicked in US compared to Ford or GM. Ofcourse, it should technically be the best to topple an existing market leader). Its only some Indians among us who are blind folded to buy and glorify a brand. Innova is highly overpriced, and the Powertrain technology is a generation older compared to the Austrian powertrains doing the job in Safari/Scorpio. The best at the current options is the Xylo. Honda and Toyota story in India is all about selling their manufacturing capacities to a selected set of customers who can easily be carried away by brand, and who are a sample enough in size to purchase the annual production capacity of these companies and they can be easily targeted among the billion plus population.Read More

Hi bangalore-guy (Amit?), What was the point(s) on which u like to differ. I didn't see whatever mentioned by you is different from what I put in my reviews. The Pros and Cons which you mentioned are found true by me as well. 'Sluggishness' terminology is really relative. Cause, if so...mebody says the VERNA 1.6 (Petrol) is a super machine, then I can always tell them a 1.4 Bravo gets a BHP figure of 150!!! thats clear 50% more powerful, with a 20% lesser engine displacement. Its all in the needs of the customer. What Fiat should be doing is convert the 8valve into 16valve, to increase ease of exhaust and precision small quantum combustion, both of which would improve the BHP to even 70 and bring in actul drive FE to 17kmpl (actual driving condition). Even if somebody drives Xing, WagonR, and Palio at full throttle from Bangalore to Delhi, then Palio reaches 4hrs late compared to Xing's and WagonR's, in a journey time band of 14-18hrs. (147kmph xing/140kmph wagonr/131kmph Palio). but who can drive that fast for that long, and even if so, how would 4hrs matter for those?. the front axle width of Palio is broader than the back one by 30mm. this is important while cornering, and Palio handles very nice in road curves, compared to the other 2, and can do this relatively at a higher speed which is practical than the maximum top speed of a car. anyhow, congrats for owning and driving a palio, I too am a fellow admirer. I bought this one last Dec, 22-12-2007. Never did I test drive any car-Xing, WagonR, Palio. I was comparing the specs of all these, and found Palio to be Value For Money and just gone for it. But now, I dont repent, rather I say I am very happy owning it. This is a 1.1 SL Black, and really (a...Read more
