Well the serviced engineers and TATA trained mechanics said that a safari fitted with a turbo engine of the first make is a lot better than the new DICOR which is still getting some trouble like excessive engine noise,etc..
It seems to have a more complex system of maintenance which is also prett...y expensive as well.Like for instance a laptop computer loaded with a special software is connected to the onboard processor which evaluates the overall engine health and then gives its suggestions as to which all part need maintenance(some dance to this tune basically). Also you gotta have a scratch card with a code in it and you need to enter this some place in the car to get acces to start the damn thing. Whatever!! these are certain things which I heard.
But hey dont get me wrong,,the DICOR has a better mileage(I agree) and (I doubt) a better pick-up too.Its definitely a century ahead of other cars making pathetic attempts at being SUVs such as a Scorpio,Bolero etc...
See basically what I feel is that since DICOR is just off the drawing board it WILL have to go thru certain adjustments. And DEFINITELY it has some edge over the previous engine (TATA engineers are no fools man),,but overall the 2x2 TURBO I own is a rugged,Tested,Reliable and perfect choice of a safari for me as of date!!

I have driven long hours on this and never felt exhausted. Longest trip...Read more
